How is everyone feeling about our home SEC opener? We're coming off a HUGE second-half storm and victory, while Georgia got a little demoralized by a very tough Gator team.

I wonder how many fans will flock to the arena.

Gotta think they'll draw more then usual. The great upstart will bring out the bandwagon fans to come and watch.

Due to distance I'm sitting this one out. I will be at the one in Athens in Feb.

Wish I could be there... should be an awesome environment and true home court advantage. I'll be on the nation and tuned into VOL network radio.

A "bandwagon fan" is better than no fan at all.

I know there's a "ticket exchange" forum, but nobody goes there outside of football season. Looks like I'm going to be able to make the affair tonight, so if anyone has extra tickets for sale, let me know. PM me or see my post in the Exchange. It's always nice to have them in hand before hitting campus.

You should be able to pick it up on the Vol Radio affiliates online. I know of wivk.com and sportsanimal99.com, locally.

Didn't mean that negatively. But they will draw more simply cause they are winning. Which then leads to more winning with fan support. Will feed off of itself.

Gotta be excited for the SEC home opener! I think the crowd breaks 21,000.

I wouldn't call these people bandwagon fans, coach Pearl has them genuinely excited! Granted, that wouldn't completely be the case if he wasn't winning... but it is excitement nonetheless. We didn't have this many ppl excited for Peterson's first year, and that team was winning as well.

One similarity between Knoxville and Dallas is that they are both "winners" towns as opposed to "sports" towns. If the teams are winning it's SRO. If they are losing you can park cars between the fans.

:dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

Comparing Knoxville to Dallas could get you hurt... if you weren't in Texas. We might come and get you anyway, but living in TX seems like punishment enough..........

Well there hasn't been much to get excited about in past years regarding the basketball program, so maybe you should take it easy on the so-called bandwagon fans.

I went to games during the Wade Houston, Kevin O'Neill, Jerry Green, and Buzz Peterson eras, and really the only times we have had to be excited about were when KO was hired on as coach and the times we made the NCAA under Green.

It is only natural that people don't want to brave the cold, park half a mile away, walk past a billion empty parking spaces, and pay to see a half-ass product.
