I'd say Bill Elliott because he was a favorite of mine back in the day but the 21 is just so pitiful. So, I'll go with Travis Kvapil in the 28 who is 23rd in points.

Yates is my underdog team i'm pulling for. for what they're running with, they've been impressive.

Earlier I too voted for Kvapil. Interesting we have so many in agreement over someone not that well known compared to Elliot, Waltrip, Schrader, Kahne, and others. Reflects on what I call insightful thinking, recognizing unheralded talent.

some good news for Kvapil.... Discount Tire is going to sponsor him this weekend in Richmond and Lafayette Ford will sponsor him next weekend at Darlington... it will be the first time since '67 that Lafayette Ford has sponsored a car... from 62-67 they sponsored Fred Lorenzen, NASCAR’s “Golden Boy” of the 60s.. he won 5 consecutive in '64.. Kvapil's paint scheme will be reminiscent of Lorenzens

That was the #28 car fielded by Holman-Moody, who was the lead Ford team at that time. All the Ford teams bought thier parts through them. Lornezen & Petty had a fairly strong rivalry then, I was a Petty fan. Lorenzen was from Illinois if I remember correctly, making him one of the first to run in NASCAR from outside of the SE.

i really wish some of you would reconsider and vote for the Yates drivers. all the other guys mentioned have sponsors to guarantee their rides. the Yates team however has been running pretty much out of their bank account all year.

to top it off, both drivers are in the top 25. the Yates team is pretty much the last hope as a small time team. for them to get one of their two drivers into the show would be huge. for them to have both cars in the show would be even bigger.

vote for 'em. you know you want to.

I am asking the same as doozer, Yates has been a part of NASCAR for many years. Robert Yates is one of the true good guys. Let's try to help keep Yates Racing from being the next Morgan-McClure. Of course vote how you want, but please consider it. Also vote soon and vote often.
