"We have to address this in a way that is about giving resources based on equity, understanding that we fight for equality, but we also need to fight for equity," she added.

Translated.
We have to fight for equal opportunity but when we don’t get the outcomes we like, even though everyone had an equal opportunity, we have to step in and fix it by suggesting some kind of oppression has occurred. And vote for me so I can use the power of the federal govt to fight your oppressors!!!

Re-tranlated: we hate you red state people, and you will never have your house rebuilt, so get in the back of the line.

I will have to say that houses should never have been built in many places in FL. You'd think that even semi intelligent people would look at a term like "barrier island" and not read "prime real estate". You also have to consider the type construction. I didn't see lots of real devastation when a couple of big typhoons hit Okinawa because the houses tended to be more functional (low, concrete, and solid) rather than architectural masterpieces to be blown away.

All you white people in Florida need to wait in line for hurricane relief, the administration has priorities and you're not one of them.

White people in Florida? Is this what you are upset about?

We are sending close to $100 billion to a non-NATO member to be a proxy to a country halfway around the world, and your azz is complaining about white folks in Florida not getting help?

The white folks in Ukraine likely will get more resources and attention than these Florida/American white folks.

F^^k outta here..

Also, there are a lot of people that recently moved to Florida to lve in these coastal areas where we know that the risk of nurricanes and tropical storms is a yearly phenomenon. And many of them likely moved from blue states where they sold at a peak and moved to Florida where they purchased at a discount in relatve terms.

F^^k 'em..

It’s more than idiotic; it’s disgraceful and diminishing of the devastation that hundreds of thousands have experienced, not to mention the lives lost. It’s also typical of the tone deafness of liberals when they’re not directly impacted.

I am not saying it does take away from what she said. I'm talking about the wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth about white people in Florida when it should be obvious by now that Americans (no matter the race) are second in line (or 3rd in line if you consider illegal aliens) behind Ukrainians over the past 7+ months.

Let's see if Biden and the neocons are going to be as willing to throw billions at Americans with the same enthusiasm that they throw money at a non-NATO member.

While Ron DeSantis has shown great leadership through this natural disaster the Biden Administration once again presents platitudes and hollow rhetoric. These administration is full of empty vessels.

'Is your husband’s life worth less bc he’s white?': Marjorie Taylor Greene Gets Very Personal in Her Criticism of Kamala Harris as Republicans tear into her hurricane 'equity' comments

  • Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized Vice President Kamala Harris with a brazen tweet calling out her husband Doug Emhoff
Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia asked Vice President Kamala Harris if her husband's life was 'worth less' because he is white in an astonishingly brazen Twitter post on Monday.

The conservative firebrand was reacting to Harris' recent comments suggesting that equity should be prioritized over equality when distributing hurricane relief in Puerto Rico and Florida.

Greene likened Harris' remarks to discrimination in her Monday tweet.

'@KamalaHarris hurricanes do not target people based on the color of their skin. Hurricanes do not discriminate,' the outspoken congresswoman wrote.

'And neither should the federal government giving aid to people suffering from the devastation of Hurricane Ian.'

She added: 'Is your husband’s life worth less bc he’s white?'
