Looking at this a bit early, but VT has a weak schedule. The highest ranked team they have to play is B.C. and Clemson is the only other ranked team on the schedule. I know that they have Miami to play but they are horrible. IF they end up undefeated and win the ACC champ game are they headed to a NC? Could we see a WVU vs VT NC game?

No. I have a decent feeling that two teams from the Pac-10, Big Ten or SEC will come out this season, and all three conferences are miles ahead of the ACC and Big East.

The only team I put behind VaTech in undefeated national title privelege is West Virginia... While VaTech at least plays a few decent teams (Clemson? Miami? GaTech?), West Virginia plays NOBODY outside of Louisville, who isn't even that good to be honest with you.

And failing all that, I don't think Beamer has the

to run it undefeated. He'll lose one of the "tougher" games on his schedule, which ought to knock VaTech right out of the national title discussion.

While agree that they don't play anybody, they still play in a BCS conf. and if the Buckeyes can't pull out at winless season than a sleeper will get in. Here is my hinge game at this point. USC and ND. If the Domers can pull that one off then we could see a "lessor" undefeated team make it to the NC and of all the lessors, I think that VT has the best shot talent wise and WVU has the best shot schedule wise. It is still a long season with injuries and upsets to go so hopefully it will work itself out.

You seriously think Notre Dame has even a real shot at USC, in Los Angeles?

Charlie Weis may yet have some good teams down the road, but right now, he's playing games with Ty Willingham's players. Last season, ND ran a big time offense with guys like Maurice Stovall out deep, Fasano in close, and 3 starters off a venerable offensive line. This season, Notre Dame has a quarterback unfortunately named "Brady" playing for a dude who OC'd 3 Super Bowls for ESPN's favorite team, with almost none of the supporting cast that made it work. Add to that a poor defense that won't be getting any better soon, and you've got the perfect hype storm.

USC's real tests are going to eminate from Eugene, Tempe and right across town.

Okay West Virginia hasn't played anybody, but if they destroy Louisville, which I think they might, get ready to see them in the NC. I think they will prove they belong there too. I may be the only one saying it right now, but Michigan and WVU are the best teams in the country.

U.S.C and OHIO STATE will play for the national championship. I hate both pograms. Hopefully Rich Rodriguez of West Virginia will be the Vols next head coach. If we can get him?

Easy for me to see that some of you guys just aren't that familiar with the "Chokies"...

If VT goes undefeated, their defense and special teams will have to score for them but then again, that's what they're good at.

I don't think it will happen though.

We can't. He's staying at WVU. That's where he's from and that's where his loyatly lies.

VT stil has to play BC, Miami and Clemson..and a possible ACC championship game...and don't sleep on WF...Jim Grobe has those guys playing good, for Wake anyway....

and i know Miami is pitiful right now, but that game is always tough for both teams....and Clemson will be looking to finish strong after losing to BC, and BC doesn't suck....

and Rich Rodriguez ain't going nowhere...

I know Wake Forest is doing good... For Wake Forest. It's like Vanderbilt from last season. Yeah, they're good and they'll be a tough game this season, they may even make a bowl game... But it's still Wake Forest.

Wow, NOBODY is giving the REAL Tech any credit. The Jackets go to Blacksburg next weekend after playing UVA tonight.

Doesn't anybody think that a strong D and a serviceable senior QB can come out of Blacksburg State Penitentiary with a win?

I think our little brother program can do it. Y'all know Bobby Dodd was a Vol, right?

As of late, Virginia Tech is the real Tech. I will, however, be looking forward to next week's Tech Tumble. Could possibly be the best 2 teams in the ACC.

yes, we know that...and after watching that game, Ga Tech is a one horse show...but it is a great horse...Calving Johnson is awesome. but UVA is not very good.

either way, it should be a good game next week...

right now, i'd say VT, Clemson, Ga Tech, BC and FSU are the best teams in the ACC, in that order.
