Let's break down the schedule for VT last year

August 30 vs. East Carolina* L 27-22
Pathetic. ECU turns out to be more pretender than contender as the season unravels.

September 13 Georgia Tech W 20-17
Win on questionable helmet to helmet call on TT. Roddy Jones is inches away from making a game winning TD. GT fumbles with 1 minute left in the 2nd half which VT ends up getting 7 points off of.

September 20 at North Carolina W 20-17
Again more questionable calls let VT win.

September 27 at Nebraska W 35-30
Nebraska wasn't great last season.

October 18 at Boston College L 28-23
A loss. What a surprise. VT was not that great.

October 25 at No. 25 Florida State L 30-20
A loss to a team that was far superior last year and will be far superior this year.

November 6 No. 23 Maryland W 23-13
Maryland had schizophrenia.

November 13 at Miami (FL) L 16-14
Pathetic. Miami sucked.

November 22 Duke W 14-3
14 points. 14 freaking points off of duke. Pathetic.

November 29 Virginia W 17-14
Lucky again.

December 6 vs. No. 17 Boston College* W 30-12
Probably the best win of the season for VT.

January 1 vs. No. 12 Cincinnati* W 20-7
Playing the winner of the big east is like racing the winner of the 100m dash at the special olympics.

and now even with Darren Evans gone people are hyping this up, and make Tyrod Taylor out to be the second coming or something....I think Bama will destroy them.

duh they always are. they never have any offense either for the last 3 or 4 years or so.

also, this needs to go to the ncaa forum

I have a buddy that is a VT fan and I agree completely with this. VT is also very very average and is always ranked very very high

they're probably overrated, but what do last year's schedule and results have to do with it?

Well what did they accomplish last year other than luck to be ranked so highly?
Honestly I don't even think them or any other acc team should be in the top 15, though i think they will do well for what their schedule offer them (they don't play fsu or clemson, the hardest game is at gt which i think they lose)

I think Georgia Tech or FSU will win the acc honestly, unless Vtech gets lucky again this year

Disagree, the hardest game on the schedule for them is opening game in the GA Dome against Bama....That ACC conference is a toss up, nobody knows who will win that conference

How good can a quarterback be when he was named after a steering component?
