If Meyer will play Tebow with a respiratory infection and temperature against UK, what are the odds that Meyer will play Tebow against LSU even if Tebow shows mild symptoms from his head injury? I believe in the NFL there is a requirement to be symptom free for a week prior to another start.

We'll soon find out what's more important to Meyer; another NC or a player's health. I pray (for Tebow) it's the latter.

Hopefully he wont play. He needs to think of Tebows health. Then again, we're talking about Meyer.

The news up here reported that Meyer spent the night in Tebow's room at the hospital. I imagine Meyer climbed in bed with him and held him through the night.

I can't believe there is any way Meyer puts Tebow in the game Saturday. He is already taking some heat for leaving Tebow in the game in the first place... he should have been resting on the sidelines and the injury would have never happened. The only possible scenario I can imagine, and only because Tebow is a competitor, is that he tells Meyer that he is ready to play and wants to go in, and the doctors have cleared him to play... but even then it would be questionable. If Tebow were to get hurt, it could seriously threaten Meyer's continued coaching career.

It would not threaten his coaching career. It was bound to happen sooner or later with Meyer always trying to run up the score. If he plays and gets another concussion I think the NCAA will make him sit the year. It's either 2 or 3 concussions in a season that makes them sit the year I believe.

It seems Meyer has beat you to the punch.

I am sure that Tebow and his family appreciate that you have his best interest in mind and are not using this for a nonsensical bash of Meyer.

The American Academy of Neurology Web site describes a Grade 1 concussion as the athlete having transient confusion with no loss of consciousness. A Grade 2 concussion is when those symptoms, including mental confusion, lasts longer than 15 minutes, and a Grade 3 concussion is when there is any loss of consciousness, even if it is for just seconds.

A player with a Grade 1 concussion can return to play the same day, while a Grade 3 concussion may require a player to be out for a full week.

It will all come down to Tebow. Meyer and his staff will have to depend on Tebow to tell them what he is feeling. There are many symptoms associated with the brain being concussed and as long as Tebow has ANY lingering effects he should not play until a week or so AFTER ALL symptoms are gone.

I believe there is a rule that if a player gets 2-3 concussions in a single season he cannot play. I don't know if it is 2 or 3, but I believe it's a rule. If he takes another shot whether it's on one of his scrambles or another hit like Saturday he may be done for the season.

If he doesn't have any contact over the next two weeks (they do have a bye), he should be good to go. Every time you get a concussion you do become a little more susceptible to future ones, but this is the first time Tebow has had an injury of this kind in 9 + years of playing a full contact sport. There aren't many division 1 or 2 players that can say that.

There is a risk of losing the LSU game with or without him. I expect him to play.

I don't see why he shouldn't play.

Physically, he'll be ready. Playing him won't be a poor reflection on Meyer...any coach in the country would start him against LSU.

Tebow will play. I don't think there's much of a question about that. He's probablly told Corch M as much, and well, whatever Timmy says goes.

no doubt that he'll play. i'd guess most doctors would tell him not to based on how serious concusions can be, but tebow don't take no jive.

Kind of creepy and strange. The players recognize that it's a pretty common injury and then we see this:

“I was in the room with the doctors because I wanted to see it,” Meyer said. “I always hear about the baseline. It’s interesting how that’s evolved over the years, so I sat and watched it. … You put your feet together, you hold your hand on your hips, you raise on one foot, those kind of things.”
