This time, it's a conference game.

The big play highlights all seem to be coming from UNC, yet at halftime Wake Forest leads by a score of 35-24.

Huh. If Wake Forest hadn't lost that 45-42 nail biter against NC State late in the 4th quarter, they'd actually be sitting tied for 3rd in the ACC standings at this point in the year...with some degree of chances at this year's ACC Championship Game.

UNC scores to make cut the lead to 45-31 Wake Forest with 4:43 left in the 3rd quarter.

UNC with a 46-yard passing TD to open the 4th quarter. It's 45-38 WF with 14:51 left in the game.

Howell is putting on a clinic against the Wake Forest passing defense at this point. 547 yards after this last 10 yard touchdown to make it 45-45 and there's still 8:19 left in the game.

Wake had scored 45 points by the 6:56 mark of the 3rd quarter and was up 45-24. Then, 13:37 minutes of game time later, UNC has completely closed the deficit and flipped this game.

UNC does this every game. Maybe they’ll pull this one out.

Wake's defense has to be exhausted by this point. Since Wake went up 45-24 in the middle of the 3rd quarter, they've only been off the field to rest about 11 plays to rest, and since that same point they've been on the field playing defense 25 plays and 10-11 minutes of the last 13:30 in game time.

Continuing to run an always hurry-up no huddle offense like that with a heavy focus on deep passes and trying to score quickly (even when up 3 scores) can just gash your own defense heavily if you start stalling and having quick 3-4 play drives like Wake Forest has the last few 3-4 drives. That really hurt that defense; I think they might be gassed.

Howell runs it in to make it 52-45 UNC with about 4 minutes left in the game. Untouched.

Caps off an easy 9 play, 81-yard drive.

4th and 9 Wake Forest on its own 26 with the game on the line? Sacked for an 11 yard loss.

And Howell says "I'm not done" (or "know your place in the state?"). UNC with a 15 yard TD to make it 59-45 with 2:30 left in the game.

The NCAA could pass an emergency mandate allowing Wake Forest to use shotguns, drones, and build a wall at midfield, and that defense would still be too gassed to stop anything.

After leading 45-24 midway through the 3rd quarter, UNC's offense scored 35 unanswered points in a little over a quarter of game time.

Wake Forest finally puts a quick drive down the field to score, goes for the two point conversion, gets it, and makes it 59-53 UNC with 57 seconds left in the 4th quarter.

Onside kick upcoming.

Failed to get the onside kick. UNC is going to win this.

Side note: Going for 2 there probably was a good idea now that I think about it. Wake Forest's defense is so gassed they wouldn't have been able to do much of anything in overtime.
