War in Ukraine

It's decreased in the last year according to your article........ And we still haven't defined the items. They are imports...... Of something.

Yet Russia is importing ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones from second tier world powers.

They aren't the same thing.

Let's hope and have pre-game Neyland Stadium prayers that the Russians lose. Because if they end up winning with Iranian drones after we've been losing with American and other first, second, and third world equipment, that's going to be the height of humiliation. We'll really need support animals then.

Don’t think it’s possible for the US military to suffer more humiliation than Russia is currently suffering, so no worries there.

Dude, we are providing limited support keeping our troops and the lions share of our equipment in reserve. Russia has thrown their best at this to the point they are having to buy back ballistic missiles from their customers.

As I stated earlier, they are not remotely the same thing.

You mean brown t-shirts from Djibouti and MRE coffee creamer from Uganda isn’t the same thing as kamikaze drones from Iran??

Where did you see that?

A 2nd tier world power that provides a weapon that the 1st tier world powers don't have an answer for.

Again, I fail to see the humor or shame in this (assuming they actually are Iranian drones).

I also don't understand the shame behind using dishwasher or refrigerator chips to control missiles if that is true. Sounds like some Macgyver type enginuity and far more cost effective. I guess instead of Russia running out of missiles, the next narrative will be that Russia is running out of appliances...

Why is it a big deal or something to be ashamed of if Russia is (allegedly) using Iranian drones? I've never understood what difference it makes.
Desperation, then to top it off they are also getting ballistic missiles back from Iran. That would be like us invading a small neighbor to the south then buying back weapons from France when it goes longer than we expected.

Russia has either been unable to achieve their original goals of this war....... Or they went in with no real objectives..... Similar to what we have done in the past.

Either way it hasn't gone as planned and they are scrambling to source needed weapons from second or third tier world powers...

Not a good look from a global superpower.

They are, or were, supposed to be a world superpower fighting their third tier neighbor. Now they are importing ballistic missiles to continue the fight against that third tier power.

I don't find humor in it. I think it more ironic.

It's telling, while I agree it's very mcgyverish its also unexpected and quite frankly alarming, from the Russian perspective, that they should even need to.

They are supposed to be a first rate, first world military power. They have proven themselves no such thing.

Now you are just being silly. Russia has essentially been fighting all of NATO in this conflict. Even if they do get weapons from Iran, what does that say about NATO and their inability to have an answer for these drones from a 2nd tier world power and missiles controlled by appliance chips.

If the Russians are allegedly struggling as much as you think in a conventional war, then there is no way you need to fear a nuclear confrontation with them. So may as well just send US troops over to Russia and get this over with, right?

Again conflating conventional and nuclear war. A single nuclear weapon will clear any battlefield of all life. I know you're not this dense. Quit acting like it.

They are not doing well against limited weaponry supplied by the west. NATO countries have thrown a lot of outdated equipment to Ukraine with a smaller amount of state of the art equipment and Ukraine is successfully defending itself to this point.

No NATO troops have fought, only limited equipment has been sent, NATO has the lions share of equipment in reserve for their self defense. Russia however has thrown their best troops, their best equipment at this fight. And now they have to resort to kamikaze drones and buying ballistic missiles back FROM ITS CUSTOMERS to continue the fight.

That tells me with limited understanding of military affairs what intelligence officers around the world already know, Russia is not doing so well.

The power's out, the infrastructure isn't damaged. Haha.
Depends on what they did. Taking out a transformer can lead to a lot worse than the power going out.

Again, as it's been stated the Russians have been hitting the mid level transformers that takes the big currents and breaks them down for safe consumption. Take out enough of those and you could have situations where the system is drawing a far higher current than the system is rated for, leading to damaged systems down the line.

Anyone with a basic understanding of electricity would be able to figure this out.

Abkhazia and South Ossetia declared their independence in the 90s. Just like Transnistria. You guys and gals really have an issue with freedom and independence.

Plus Abkhaz people do not get along very well with Georgians. It's best that region is independent from Georgia. Plus they have different cultures and languages due to being different races.

South Ossetia wants to be a part of North Ossetia which would help unite the Ossetian race of people into one republic.

Just like today they only declared independence after Russia occupied them. Same thing happened with Transnistria. Frozen conflicts that keep ex Soviet satellites in Russia's orbit.

When was the last time Russia actually fully resolved/concluded one of these independence movements?
