War in Ukraine

Of the oil we have tied to our dollar, yes.

We have no vested interest in the shipping going thru the black sea.

Plus the huge escalation of having our ships actively patrolling the black sea is asking for a war I dont want. Regardless of who starts it.

Agreed. As a practical matter, there's really no need to have escorts. If Russia attacks a commercial vessel of a NATO country, Article 5 is enacted.

Putin would 100% commit suicide by taking on NATO now.

Depends on what you mean by fighting. They dont loom kitted out for front line fighting, but there are any number of non combat roles that would be worthy of praising.

Plenty of opprotunity for them to earn their keep, and any honor they want, working logistics, medical, or information. Especially in this day in age, but even going back you have cases like MASH or the Redball Express.

Also plenty of combat adjacent roles as observers, or in the artillery, that wouldnt require them to be hand to hand with Russians.

Agreed but that's they way they are making it appear.

Imagine being "a world superpower" and having to depend on a second tier power for weaponry to defeat your little brother.

Iran is about to call some smoke down on themselves. They are in a precarious position at the moment. But desperate regimes that need to use force to cling to power....... that's been Russia's bread and butter for the past decade.

Iran deserves to be a smoking hole in the ground. However that would probably mean that joe would have flip flop - he was for Iran before he was against it. Pretty normal for a dem, though. Funny how they just let that treaty thing just go away without further mention - at least we have to assume that there wasn't an agreement and some imaginary senate vote on that, too.

Why is it a big deal or something to be ashamed of if Russia is (allegedly) using Iranian drones? I've never understood what difference it makes.

How many Geran2s do you think Russia could produce a day? The Duran went over this today. Rumor is they can produce 100 a day. Even if they are off by half, Russia is cranking out 350 a week. And Ukraine has no answer for how to handle these drones. Ukraine is in a world of hurt right now. Their offensive seems to be done and in some cases Russia is retaking territory as 80-90k Russian troops have entered Ukraine. Over the next couple months, as a couple hundred thousand more troops enter Ukraine, I just don't see how anyone can be optimistic about Ukraine's future. Russia looks ready to put the hammer down.

Vladimir Putin 'DOES have Parkinson's and Pancreatic Cancer, leaked Kremlin spy documents claim'

Vladimir Putin does have early stage Parkinson's disease and pancreatic cancer, leaked spy documents have alleged in the latest unverified claim about the tyrant's ill health.

The Russian leader has been plagued with rumours about his illnesses for months and he has regularly appeared twitching and unsteady in public, sparking hope in Ukraine and the West the despot could soon relinquish power.

Claims have been circulating among opposition figures, fuelled by his unexplained absences and his shaky public appearances, that he is battling serious health problems but they have always been rubbished by the Kremlin.

But now emails from a Russian intelligence source appear to confirm the 70-year-old has been diagnosed with cancer and Parkinson's, according to The Sun.

I guess they have ran out of talking points on Putin and Russia so they have to recycle old ones now.

These clowns are lucky Putin is in charge and not someone like Medvedev.

What does 41% of Latvia’s military budget equate to?
No where near ours should be the big take away but is pretty amazing how much they’ve committed as well as Estonia.

The other clear takeaway is how damn much we spend on defense. All that money committed and it’s only 3.6% of our annual budget. We spend entirely too much on defense.

I’d like to see the way they have bookkept this. Is all of the aid being written off from the military budget?

No idea. I’d just guess they took the sums known committed to date and ratioed with fiscal year budget values. And no you know as well as I do the US funds were committed in addition to fiscal year funds.

The real travesty on that list is Germany and France dragging up the rear as the usual needy leeches they are. Mad props to Latvia and Estonia.
Those arrogant bastard are cheerleading for a federalized EU while showing how little they care about the rest of Europe. More clear than ever it’s their (especially Macron’s) push for power and nothing more.

Yeah the EU members as a whole have some reckoning on how they’re going to be consistent going forward.

Pentagon Confirms US Boots Are On The Ground In Ukraine | ZeroHedge

We told you leftist filth warmongers this was going to happen.

This week Finland has been among the first European countries to document the spread of West-supplied weaponry outside of Ukraine's borders and into the hands of criminal elements, as we detailed previously. "Weapons shipped [by various countries] to Ukraine have also been found in Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands," Finland's federal National Bureau of Investigation chief Christer Ahlgren was quoted by national broadcaster Yle as saying.

The initial aid package passed with “wildly bipartisan” support

Bipartisan support for U.S. to give Ukraine planes and weapons grows

Likewise as time as gone on and the spending has mounted we are similarly seeing bipartisan calls for resource oversight

I don't see missiles, munitions, transports, and certainly not an aircraft or two in there. I suppose it could include rank tabs for BDUs or something similar. Think more a welfare program for most of the countries in your list than needing them for critical stuff.
