I think people's motives here in the state (as far as the powers that be) come from different lines of thinking as far as support for Ukraine goes. Some most certainly see it as a way to enrichen themselves. Either by eventually getting a deal like Hunter and Joe got over there, or by some other means since Russia and Ukraine are two of the most corrupt countries on earth. Others see it as a chance to knock down one of our biggest adversaries a notch. Others still don't want Putin emboldened. After Ukraine, who's next? Does Russia go after a NATO country next? Russia keeps doing the same thing over and over. Country after country. So, if Russia can get its nose bloodied bad enough in Ukraine, then it may at least significantly delay them from trying this again....possibly avoiding WWIII. This this last reason is why I hope Russia loses. I don't support sending cash....at all.
You mean like spending it on education here? Ukraine is a black sucking hole for American dollars so long as we are willing to send cash. The American education system is the same way. No dollar escapes.
I get the idea of picking a side and rooting for them. I just don't understand bankrolling a foreign war that doesn't affect the USA when so many American neighborhoods, urban and rural alike, are poorer and more crime-riddled than any of the neighborhoods in the developed countries.
