War in Ukraine

You, @Rasputin_Vol and @volgr need to move past this tu qoeque argument, it's completely unconvincing. Pointing out a past wrong doesn't magically absolve a new wrong, it's hard to watch you guys keep tripping over this logic.
This is a fair critique. Honestly, I was a little tipsy Saturday night so my comments weren't as tight as they should be. I do think it's fair to compare what Russia is doing with what our government would do in their situation; and I think it's fair to use our recent history as examples.

For the record, I don't really advocate for either side. I'm kinda looking at this war like a game between Georgia and Alabama. I wish they could both lose (of course in this case with minimum loss of innocent life). All the governments involved in this situation are corrupt, including our own. In a perfect world, Putin would kill all the neo-nazis; US politicians lose their little money laundering operation in Ukraine; and Putin weakens himself in the process leading to legitimate elections in Russia; and we would rethink our foreign policy.

How long will NATO and/or western Europe sit by while cities are bombed and 10's-100,000+ civilians are killed in the shelling? How many refugees will the NATO countries take before it becomes unmanageable and they must fight?

Hopefully it won't come to that. Once the Donbass region is lost and Kiev, Odessa are encircled, NATO allows their puppet to surrender.

More video from refugees of Mauripol. Video is translated. Ukraine forces using them as human shields and placing their military installments in residential areas. Russia is taking far more casualties than they need to trying to prevent the killing of innocents, but it is occurring because of this.

Weird how you keep missing the forest for the trees....Russia could end the war anytime it chose to or not started it in the first place. You can what if all you want with NATO. It is irrelevant.
Maybe I worded it wrong and you misunderstood. I am at work and keep getting interrupted with that pesky work stuff. Let me try again.

Ukraine is not winning the war at the moment. They are winning the propaganda war but not he actual one on the ground.

I think NATO wants to bleed the Russian army in order to create chaos at home and hopefully a coup occurs in Russia.

My only concern with this is just how long NATO can keep up this strategy given the number of civilian deaths and refugees this will create.

Yes, I know Russia could turn tail and leave but they won't unless the pressure at home becomes too much and if it reaches the "too much" point there will be a coup.

Nope. Ukraine and Russia are both bad. It just seems like if you don’t take Ukraines side on this and support them 100% then it’s somehow terrible. It’s laughable. Ukrainian president wants to join NATO, the EU, Soros shows full support for him as does Biden and the other corrupt world leaders.

I would say both are cut from the same cloth. Both countries have some beauties though

It's those 900 soldiers again reeking havoc, killing everyone, committing genocide against all the Russian people, and running the government of Ukraine. They have more power than the racists running all of our police departments and the US military
I don't know why you're not taking the neo-nazi problem in Ukraine seriously. Yes, there are only 900 members in Azov BN; but there are literally dozens of these armed militias. There are also major political parties. I guess now they're rebranded as ultra-nationalists, but we didn't have a problem calling them out as neo-nazis before.

I particularly chuckled at this section from the last article

"One of Svoboda's leading members, sports journalist Ihor Miroshnychenko, his ponytail flying behind him, then charged the podium to prevent a deputy speaking in Russian. (Svoboda believes that only Ukrainian should be used in all official bodies.)

Outside, Svoboda deputies used a chainsaw to cut down an iron fence erected last year to prevent crowds from storming the parliament building. This they justified in the name of popular democracy.
"No other democratic country has fenced-off the national parliament," said Svoboda's Ruslan Koshulinskiy, the deputy speaker of parliament. "People have chosen these lawmakers and should have a right to have access to them."

The "mall" that those dastardly Russians blew up...be nice to have a media that would tell the truth and let the chips fall where they may...

When you read 1930s German history, you think to yourself how could Hitler have found such useful cowardly idiots. Certainly couldn’t happen in modern society. Then you stop and read this forum.
The issue now is social media. Because the MSM are FOS and have had agendas for so long instead of just trying to educate on the actual truth some nutjobs have delved into believing the conspiracy YouTubers and bot tweeters the other way.

How many times can one be lied to by their government and media before they no longer believe anything they say? At some point, some of you are just choosing to live in this alternate reality created for you.

Guess what? Just because the government and media have lied before DOESNT mean zero hedge and Putin state run media is telling you the truth either.

I don't believe much of anything that our government or media tells us, but the same goes for Russian media and the Putin government.

Based on many Russian citizens.....indefinitely.

Anyone that approves of the targeting of Russian civilians with economic warfare out of one side of their mouths while attacking Russia for civilian casualties in Ukraine out of the other is a hypocrite. Especially while they lambast Russia for having a "corrupt", "unelected" leader. Nothing speaks of justice like taking it to civilians living under a dictatorship, am I right?

It's about the only card left to play.
