Sorry if this has been posted already

But Antonio Wardlow started in Morley's spot. Morley was suspended for the first half for academic reasons. It's on the front page on VolNation.
I thought Wardlow played pretty well. I saw him make a couple nice tackles, including a one-on-one tackle on Rice.

Wardlow finished with 4 tackles.
Ricardo Kemp finished with 7 tackles.

Listening to D.Mo's post-game interview he has taken his lick with being suspended for the first half, and learned his lesson. That said, M. Johnson played ok, but got burned a couple of times. Wardlow made some good tackles, I don't think he really got burned. The young guys still have learning to do, but their potential looks bright.

Which one got burned on the one big Sidney Rice play early in the 2nd QT?

i think it was Wardlow.

I don't like the rule that gives the ball to the offense when both a reciever and a defensive player comes down with the ball. In my opinion it should go to the defense.

could anyone tell what happened when we allowed the SC receiver to get wide open on the play where they took the lead? i was at the game, and it seemed like he just came out of nowhere and that we didn't have anyone w/n 20 yards of him

It was a crossing route and our guys weere playing zone and no one covered him. Busted play on defense.

Some of our d-line second teamers got some PT as well. Wes Brown ran Newton out of bounds once I remember...

same play florida used to score on us TWICE! and you know that lsu will use it in the red zone. and we probably wont stop then either. for some reason our zone D gets blown on that play every time. it needs to be addressed.

Wardlow looked very impressive making takles in the open field and his ball skills looked good in the two deep and man coverage. I was very nervous when they mentioned that Morley wasn't playing but after watching Wardlow...man that secondary will be in good shape for a few years to come. Athletes all over the field.

Wardlow may get his 2nd start this weekend:

No Second Team: Defensive coordinator John Chavis said redshirt freshman Antonio Wardlow is receiving first-team snaps in practice. Wardlow played for most of the first half last week as starter Demetrice Morley was suspended for disciplinary reasons. Chavis said he wasn't sure who would start against LSU.

Coach Fulmer said he thought Johnson had the ball and should have been awarded the INT. He also said that would be one he sent in to the Head Ref's office. If Johnson had just turned his head it would have been an easy INT.

Well, regardless if he had it or not, I think it was still a very impressive play by a RS freshman. He and Antonio both played very well, and I was also impressed with Marsolus' return skills as well.
