Looking forward to see Mercedes Russell play. Wish they still played ODU. Being in the Navy makes it hard to go to Knoxville and see them. Go Lady Vols!

On Nov 11th we play at North Carolina which is a big challenge on ESPN2 at 9 pm ET. On Dec 21st we play at Stanford which will be a big challenge. Then on Jan 20th we play Notre Dame in K-town which will be another big challenge on ESPN2 at 7 pm ET. Those are just some big games that popped out to me. It want be easy this year. I wish the team an injury free season & I hope we beat the big teams that we will face throughout the season. GBO & Go Lady Vols. We will be cheering you on to victory again this season. Tenn. vs UConn for the NC game??

Darn, same as last year, NO trip to Gainesville! Was looking forward to seeing the Lady Vols come to Florida. I went 2 years ago to see Pat and the Lady Vols blow out the Lady Gators. Of course, last year was a bit closer in Knoxville. Toughest games should be North Carolina, Texas. Stanford, LSU, Georgia, Kentucky, Notre Dame.

Yes, it would be good to see us in the National Championship game, however; I prefer to NOT play UConn. Should we lose that game and lose by more than a few points, then it will give Geno's ego a big boost.
We are not ready for UConn, just yet. Lets, get a few more great recruiting seasons behind us before we talk about UConn....

Bought my tickets to the SEC tournament today.
I like our team this year. Our second string would be starters on 90% of the rest of the teams in the country.
I like our coaching staff too.
Bring "Weno" on!
My only worry is starting the season with only ten players. Injuries will be our worst enemy.
I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

Oakland, Lipscomb, Troy? Why would Holly choose to play such weak out of conference teams? This is not good for the reputation.

Connecticut's gotten marvelous postseason seedings in the past for much weaker OOC scheduling than this. View the schedule holistically--not just at those 3.

I just mentioned those three teams because they are close to the worse teams in all of Div 1. The rest of the OOC schedule is not particularly strong either. Not playing uconn hurts. I just think playing the weak teams don't prepare the team for the good teams on the schedule. This schedule just isn't up to Tennessee standards.

Playing weak teams hasn't negatively affected Connecticut in the past. It's conference can't provide it with the nightly competition that the SEC affords Tennessee. Connecticut needs to schedule heavier OOC to be tested--even though it still found room for Monmouth, St. Bonaventure, and UC-Davis this year. Not playing Connecticut doesn't break Tennessee's season, and it hasn't been a deterrent in recent absences to the Final Four. The main catalyst has been injuries.

Every team has injuries. It's up to the coach and remaining players to compensate. Maryland had 4 ACLs last year and still did ok.

The teams you pointed out on uconn's schedule while not great are still much better than the three the LV's will be playing. There are 345 Div 1 teams. The average ranking of the three being played by the LVs is 309, while the three uconn is playing are ranked an average of 208. That's 100 teams better.

I wasn't trying to compare to uconn. My point is this year's LV schedule seems to be weaker that usual, and the SEC isn't particularly strong next year. Playing uconn would enhance the LVs rep. It's the one game everyone still wants to see, but the longer the embargo lasts, the less important the game will become as other rivalries emerge.

You are right about uconn's new conference. They are up the creek unless they can find a way out of the AAC.
