Was Notre Dame much better than UT?

I am thinking not. Notre Dame was exposed as a fraud---over hyped and Manti Te'o possibly the most overhyped player--ever. The Tennessee team we saw early in the season----GA, SC, even UF games---could have played with the Domers---IMO. Obviously UT got regressively worse later on, but on their best day, I say they compete with the Exposed #1 team. Last night was fraud night. Manti couldn't tackle---anyone. The Vols' O Line ranks among the best --lest we forget.

No. If UT played ND with the passion when they faced NC State, UT wins fairly easily.

would've been another shoot-out, but we didn't even make a bowl game and they were undefeated going into the NC.

Put down the crack pipe. They beat two BCS bowl winners/ conference champs in Stanford and OU. Went undefeated. Louisville pounded UF, does that mean they would do as well in the SEC? No.
Bama played lights out inspired. Who else would have fared any better last night?

I love UT as much as anyone but ..........you have got to be joking to even ask such a question. Threads like this make our fan base look like....to put it nicely, not so smart.

We couldnt beat Vandy. As they say on ESPN.....Come on man!!!!!

Yes. How do you even begin to try and compare the two. Since we re at it, was UT better than LSU last year? Don't try to compare a team in the national championship to a team they hasn't made a bowl game in two years.

Yeah, we get blown out by Vanderbilt, beat by Missouri and MSU, and all of a sudden we can beat a team that beat Oklahoma, Stanford, Michigan St., and USC. I love how when Bama wins, fans of inferior SEC teams all of a sudden think they can beat the team they just embarrassed.

Please dont lump me in there with those few who have so quickly forgotten how bad we ended up being.

Come on People...All of us were sitting at home this bowl season and we need a reality check
As much as we love our VOLS...we sucked last year
We are hoping BJ can turn this program around but who really thinks the team that was beated by MS and Mizzouri could beat ND? Enough with the happy crap We would have had our azzes handed to us by either team

Our team found a way to lose this season...it was a mindset not talent issue except for Bama...they applied a whipping...but Gawga, Sissy State and USCe were there for the taking

AGREE!

It wasn't like UT was blown out in every game. UF, UGA, Miss St., USC, & Mizzou were winnable. If UT had mediocre production out of the D, they win 9 games this past year.

Notre Dame was overrated, but they are definitely better than us, at least with the last coaching staff at the helm. With the coaching we had this year, especially on the defensive side of the ball, we couldn't beat anyone of significance. The fact that we couldn't beat Missouri or Vanderbilt and that we blew so many chances to win against the good teams through self-inflicted wounds is all that needs to be said. Notre Dame, despite the fact that they were overmatched last night, found ways to win this year. All we did was find ways to lose.

With all that said, I am starting to feel hopeful that with Coach Jones and crew now in charge we are going to start changing that.
