After all the hypesman talk and run for the NC talk maybe a scare from an unranked team is just what this team needed to open their eyes (CPF seems to think so according to the paper this morning). This team has lots of potential but that don't mean squat if you don't bring it every play. I just watched the replay and the blame can be spread to just about the whole team. If they play this lethargically at the swamp, they'll get chomped. :ninja:

yes, now they can put away their pre-season press clipping and play

This performance scared me, but I think in the long run this may be better for the team than a blowout would have been. I don't think there is any way these players can be very comfortable with where they are to this point, and should motivate them to improve. All this team has heard all preseason is how great they were supposed to be, so a blowout may have let them be a little to comfy heading to the swamp.

yep, this is what we needed. It also gives Phil 2 weeks to dog-cuss these guys and keep reminding them that hype doesn't win games. Also, while not being very sexy, this is pretty much standard procedure by now. OTOH, the slogan"Just Win" isn't so bad. We're 1-0 and just faced a franchise QB.

I warned you guys that UAB was good but you all just laughed. Guess what? UAB is a good team, particularly early in the season before injuries expose their lack of depth.

Hopefully the hype monster has moved elsewhere and we can get down to some real UT football now , come on Gators!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never laughed, snickered maybe, but no laughing. I figured that UAB could be tough, but they were a little better.

Hopefully Allen and Mahelona will throw some chairs around and kick some ass.

UAB is a pretty good team, but if we executed it would have been no contest.

Yeah, but we didn't so UAB looked good. I know what you're saying though.

I agree, UAB will maybe not lose again this year (I haven't seen their schedule). They certainly won't lose in C-USA.

Southern Miss and Memphis are the only potential losses IMO, but if Hackney plays as well as he did Sat., they very well could run the table.

Memphis looked like a high school team against Ol Miss from the few minutes I got to watch, UAB steam rolls over memphis IMO

That's because their QB broke his ankle on the first drive and they had to play a true freshman
