Was this the reaction when Pearl was announced coach?

come on give the guy a chance... most of you dont even know hot to play basketball let alone voice a opinion whether or not a guy can coach

dont know nor do i care. pearl proved us wrong, but eventually sometime down the road a coach will not prove us wrong. hire someone that is a proven winner.

If you can get a coach that is a proven winner they will never come close to winning a championship. Championship coaches stay put. The only exceptions are major BBall school jobs like NC, Kentucky or Duke. If we pulled a winning coach he would have a low ceiling. I like going after young talented coach.

That's what I said on another thread.When Pearl was hired.i said who is this guy?We have to give our people credit for waht they do.they get paid pretty good to do these things,Ya know,like hiring coaches.

Then I remember then beating the crap out of MTSU or another instate school early in, like 30-2...

Then came Austin and the texas beat down

So I been wrong before and will be again.

If you didn't know who Bruce Pearl was when he got hired, then you obviously don't pay much attention to college basketball. He was the hottest mid major coaching candidate at the time.

Pearl was coming off a big run and Buzzball was an abortion of my early 20s. I was happy with him, but I didn't know much about him.

Bruce had become a household name after that tournament. If you honestly are on this board saying you didn't know who Bruce was when we hired him, you either don't watch Basketball, or have only been keeping up for a short while.

I for one, was excited about the BP hire. He was the guy I wanted.

Hearing about this guy... As well as the Dooley hire... both reactions were exactly the same. "Who the ....?"

Comparing the now to when Pearl was hired is useless. Tennessee basketball is in a different spot thanks to Pearl, and I mean as a positive and a negative. Pearl raised our expectations but screwed us in the end.

Yes. When Pearl was hired it was this bad or worse. So all in all normal post for most.
