Watching this video clip this morning, it caught my attention after the final play when the announcer referred to Jennings as the toughest football player on our team. That said, who do you think is the toughest player on our team right now?

Trey Smith. I do think JG and AT are tough as well. Trey Smith is the alpha...maybe the alpha in all of college football. The guy is a monster OL and pancakes the best DL in the country, is playing with a life threatening condition in a season that is gripped by a pandemic that his condition could be sensitive to and went nuclear on the NCAA.

I would be hard pressed to pick just one. JG has shown his toughness as the starting QB, no doubt. AT has that attitude and brings the wood when he hits, but really, there is a whole team playing like they are they toughest kid on the block.

JG's got proven toughness over multiple seasons. So he's a solid choice.
Trey Smith has toughness that extends well beyond the football field into all aspects of life. So he's a great choice.
Alontae Taylor proved he has some real toughness with the aggressive, explosive way he blocked for To'o To'o in that interception. So he's a good choice.

I like all three of those fellas as answers to this question.

But here's the litmus test: which of them would I put head-to-head against JJ for toughness?

Hmm.

Trey Smith wins that one.

Go Vols!

Maybe it was against Auburn last season JG stood in the pocket and took a hit that I thought he’s gonna need a minute. When he hopped back up and was ready to play I knew then he’s a TSOB. We may knock him for other things but you can’t question his toughness.

To'oto'o... If you hadn't restricted answers to "players", I'd said Pruitt...

Also committed to the Volunteers Football team.
Adversity reveals character and he had a lot of adversity before what possibly could be his great senior season.

The at Alabama that has the fumble fiasco he could have just easily quit except he didn’t because a Champion doesn’t quit because of adversity and failure to succeed in past games.

Every time I see this play, it blows my mind how 2 or 3 UGA defenders got totally lost and ended up behind the play.

The screwup that nobody talks about in that game was the kickoff. There was only one guy in the stadium that could hurt UGA but they kicked it straight to Evan Berry.

True.

Just another mental breakdown. They’re good at that.
