Watching the Bama-Arkansas game

And that looks painful. I hope we are doing some serious study cuz they are a seriously well oiled machine. Their receivers catch stuff that shouldnt be caught and McCarron makes passes that shouldnt be accurate (backfoot cross lane stuff that hits dead on) and I doubt I need to mention their D.

I am not saying to give up before the game starts because anyone can go down on any given day and notice TexasAM almost got it done (and they got beat by Auburn) - thats why its a game. But do realize next week may well not be pretty. What I am expecting from our guys is, like this game, to fight the whole way - even if they get down. Because if we can hold on the ball like we did this time, we can remain competitive. Our D will have to be amazing, they have so much speed.

I want to upset them so bad I can taste it but if things dont go well next week, lets not have all the negavols who think BJ doesnt have what it takes go running around claiming the sky is falling. Today's win proved he is turning things around and UT has turned the page toward better times - but we are still not as great today as we will continue to become.

Alabama looked that way in 1982 the week before They were beaten by a 2-2-1 Tennessee team. Alabama was 5-0 and #1 after beating a top 5 Penn State team 42-21 in Birmingham.

They are beating the same Arkansas team tat USCe beat last week like that. This Arkansas team is just bad. That's not I say Bama isn't good ad a threat, but this game is probably not a good one to gauge it in.

Last time we beat SC we were a blocked FG away from beating Bama. Clearly we're on track to handle them next week.

Bama hasn't been tested. A&M sucks and never should have been ranked inside the top 20.

I know Bama is really good (at least compared to the craziness of the rest of the league). I don't think they will walk all over the Vols. I'm not saying it's a W. I'm not saying they even lose by 1 score the same as A&M, but it will be a solid game for confidence at the least. If they come out turnover free and only have 4 or 5 small penalties and win field position like they did today, they have a shot.

No. As much as I would like that to be true, Our offense is not consistent enough yet. Worley improved yet again over previous play and true freshmen like North were amazing. But Bama is doing stuff like that consistently almost every series - granted, not against our Defense but still.

My greatest concern is that our D does well but because our O still is still improving, they dont get the time on field and our D gets burnt out in the second half. And Bama can roll you when that happens.

But yes, not sure if we are same level of challenge as TA&M was that day but I definitely think we will not be a walkover like some teams they have played.

Like someone else said, this game wasn't a very good gauge of how good Bama is. I really think we will be competitive next week.

Who says we cant beat them? I am saying that we gotta be prepared and play like we did today. Even when they made some fast plays and we lost the lead, we didnt get down and we turned it around.

I am loving today - but I want our exuberance to be clear eyed steel eyed killer when we look at the matchup for next week.

And with a much less talented team for the Vols that year. And I believe Butch is a better coach than Kiffen (stating the obvious). Not sayin we'll win, but we'll be in the game. It's a big rivalry, and Butch gets it. He'll have our guys ready. No one thought we could beat SC after their beat-down of Arky, but friends we have a keeper for a coach. GBO!
