Tech game tonight and it reminded me of the way the Lady Vols used to play. It was all about team-team offense and team defense. Very unselfish and cohesive unit. Just a well-coached team all around. I remember those days.

The thing the LVs are missing is that icy cold stare of CPS -- it brought out the best in players.

was never a PS strength. She was all about defense and rebounding--completely--and that carried us a long way back in the early years of women's basketball. When it came to offense, she relied on great players to score--and if we didn't have great players--even if we had a team FULL of highly ranked good/very good players--the offense tended to be pretty ugly and sloppy. UT has almost never been a good passing team like ND or Ct--that's just a fact. As the game evolved, with more teams having more talent and good coaches, our weak team offense became a problem, starting more than 10 years ago. It continues to be a problem--not enough good, fundamental passing, not enough assists, too many bad decisions and turnovers. And at the same time we haven't been able to play the tough man defense which was UT's calling card for 20 + yards.

Yeah, that was more our forte. Rebounds and defense. Pat when she played and was an Olympian she would be right up in your face. She talked the talk and walked the walk. One thing though is turnovers were not tolerated.
