I was drug by the wife to see this tonight.

Not as bad as I thought. Actually pretty good for a chick flick.

You telling me they turned this book into a chick flick??? Well, if so, then hats off to you, Hollywood, for ruining a seemingly straight-forward book-to-movie adaptation.:hi:

I concur. Really wasn't that bad. She left to pee the minute of the main scene. I tried to stop her but she really had to go. I lol'd to myself.

Saw it last night. IMHO they did the best they could with the acting talent they had to work with. The whole circus thing in the Depression is pretty well done. You definitely get the feeling of poverty and quiet desperation.

Pattinson as the lead leaves a lot to be desired IMHO, just not talented enough to pull it off. Witherspoon as well, just doesn't quite pull off the conflicted woman choosing between a secure life and forbidden love.

Anyway - It's only two hours, and it's worth seeing once.

Once again JMHO

Got suckered into seeing it. Hangover II tomorrow in return. To be honest the movie wasn't half bad. I was hoping to see some freak shows though.
