Tyler never shows up till the 2nd half. He was never meant to be the main guy. He's great as a 2nd option, but he can't carry a team like Chris or JaJuan could.

Negedu can be a bright spot if he gets to play more.

Tyler has no hope of the NBA.

I say we go back to the guys that played when this team had heart. What the hell happened to Ryan Childress? Josh Tabb? Those guys have big game experience, and Childress could at least shoot, and Tabb used to be able to play defense, I haven't seen enough of him to know if he still does. And give Negedu more PT. We need to go back to pressing straight from the get-go.

Tyler will be in the NBA, make no mistake. He's just not a player who will carry a team. Some days he won't show up. Some days he will come up big. But he will not be a sure thing to carry you when you are having trouble.

Childress could shoot--which is more than can be said for anybody on this team! Is he still on the squad??? The only way a team like this can improve is to play very smart, fundamental basketball, and the Vols don't do that.

Chism didn't have a two point field goal until under two minutes left in the game.

I don't know how that fits in with this thread, but I thought that was odd for a big guy to score that many points but not score a two until that late in the game.

That was because Wayne was drawing about three people down on him every time he had the ball in the 2 point area.

Tyler is no where close to being a lottery pick. He should have went to the draft last year.

He was'nt a lottery pick last year either, he was projected to be early 2nd round. That's why he came back to try & be taking in the 1st round.

Thats what I am saying he has done nothing to warrant him getting picked any higher this year so he might as well have went last year.

Really??? Are u serious?

Tyler Smith is in the top 10 in the conference in points, assists, & FG% and Chism is the team's only bright spot?!?!?

Riiiight...because we probably wouldn't have lost any of those games we won this year without Tyler (insert sarcastic tone here)

You people are friggin' unbelievable!!!

I never said Tyler wasn't good. He is. He's just not what he should be for this team.

He came back wanting to work on his outside game & become more of a all around player to help his draft status out.

I dont blame him for coming back, i thought he would improve & become more of a all around player but your right he should have left if he was'nt going to improve

The biggest problem with Tyler has nothing to do with Tyler. It's the lack of any sort of inside-out game that plagues us. He draws 2-3 defenders everytime he touches the ball, and that will continue as long as we have no threat from the perimeter.

They're doing it to him and chism. Still though smith is taking some god awful shots, that part he can help.

I'm still wondering why Chism was roaming the outside on perhaps the most critical possession of the game. The same could be said for the final moments against Memphis.
Saying that, he did hit some key shots tonight.
