UT is somewhat unpredictable. We don't know what we have in Milton but can be pretty sure there will be growing pains if one of the young guys has to start. The D has to take a major, MAJOR step forward. The portal could easily make or break the team for '23.

Not sure what the OP's biases are... but Notre Dame? FSU? I don't think so.

I do think USCw is about to set up shop again. tOSU is going to be in that conversation every year and probably Michigan too.

Those are solid picks
If Nick Saban retires following this season's bowl game for Alabama his successor will have enough talent to win the SEC West with an 11-1 record and make the Playoffs. His replacement will get too much credit for that when it's still Nick Saban's talent.

Similar to when Les Miles replaced Saban at LSU

I don't believe Saban will retire after this season. 10-2, no SEC championship, no playoff. He's too much of a narcissist to go out like that.
Yea but what if he goes like 5 years without winning a national championship? he’s never gone longer than three seasons at Bama between winning one. What if god forbid he loses 3 games or loses to us again or Kirby or Freeze at Auburn I think those things would push him into retirement plus he will be 72 next season he sure isn’t getting any younger and the pressure and expectations at Bama are insanely high championship or bust every year. He looked tired and older than usual to me alot this season as well.

The big drop off in talent i think for Nick Saban's replacement will be in the 2nd season when the Sports Media will probably pick an Alabama team that went 11-2 and made the Playoffs in 2023 to win the SEC in 2024. They will slip to 9-10 wins because a lot of recruits who were into Saban aren't into his replacement and pressure will increase exponentially in Tuscaloosa and with it bricks.

I'm just talking one season. If the results turned out the way you asked, I don't think it would be five years out. I think if things are not better next season for 'bama, he may very well decide the time is right to get out.

They got 5 star Ty Simpson waiting to take over plus the number 1 recruiting class coming in they will be fine
A redshirt freshman from Martin Westview is going to lead Bama to the CFP?

If Saban has a repeat of this season next year I think he will retire he isn’t a fan of the NIL anyway.
