"The Women's Basketball Hall of Fame is naming its south rotunda after Pat Summitt next month in honor of the former Tennessee coach.
The Hall of Fame announced Thursday that it will hold a ceremony to salute Summitt on June 12, the day before it inducts its newest class. This will mark the first time the Hall of Fame has named a section of its building after anyone.
Summitt won eight national titles and 1,098 games -- the most of any men's or women's college coach -- in 38 seasons at Tennessee before stepping down as the Lady Volunteers' coach in 2012. She also played an instrumental role in bringing the Hall of Fame to Knoxville.
Summitt was part of the Hall of Fame's first induction class in 1999."
