When will it be announced?
Who is UT likely to play?
I've heard it may be Fla.

Too early yet, the field is not yet complete. The Lady Vols are in and that's all that matters!

What's with SEC teams playing each other again in the first round of the WCWS? I'm suspicious.

The bracket was laid out at the beginning of the tournament, based on how the teams were seeded 1-16. Everybody knew it was coming.

Seems like it always turns out that way, such is not allowed in the basketball tourney. :nono:

Yes it is allowed. The world series is like the elite 8 of the basketball tournament and 2 teams from the same conference are allowed to play each other in it.

lady vols are playing florida at 2:30pm ET on Thursday on ESPN

ESPN1? That would be great. My Sprint phone has ESPN (at no extra charge). If Sprint is sold, I really hope the new owner doesn't ruin Sprint's plans by changing them.

The 3 and the 6 both losing is nice. Regardless of who wins, UT and UF will both play a double-digit seed in the second game.

Mark my words. We will be playing OU for the title. Beating them is a talk task.

No matter how you shake it, going to have to beat Florida twice to make the championship series.

Not necessarily. In the WCWS, the two teams that win their first game and lose their second game switch sides of the bracket. So, if the UT-UF winner loses on Friday, the teams won't be able to play again until the championship series.

UT HAS to beat florida to have a chance to win the big taco. You HAVE to win the first game--it is MASSIVE, no other way to put it. If you win it, you put yourself within another victory or two of playing for the championship. Look at bama last year--they beat UT and went on to win the title. If you lose the first game, you have very little chance of winning the title. Your margin of error is gone--and you've got to win out against top teams. It's almost never done. Got to unload the sticks, swing the sticks, score runs and whip florida. I like this team.

Any word on Ivys pitching hand ?

Fine, not an issue.

True, but if you lose Friday, you'll have to beat Oklahoma twice. That's worse.

Is it more than a blister?

Was reported after the game that it was a blister, but Ralph said in the post-game press that it was not. He said Ivy said she had just lost her rhythm, and after going to the bull pen for just a short stint, she said she was fine. Strange, but great she does not have a blister.

Truer words have never been spoken regarding the WCWS!

at some point... you will (in theory) have to beat Oklahoma twice to win the championship... either in the loser bracket or the championship series.... preferably in the championship series.
