Love seeing not only this team’s success, but also that it’s happening with Tennessee natives. Last night’s heroes were 3 middle Tennessee kids: Drew Beam from Murfreesboro, Chase Burns from Gallatin, and Zane Denton from Brentwood. A decade ago, at least one, maybe all of those kids are at Vanderbilt.

Ensley from West Tennessee has come up big in the postseason too, and of course, Lindsey, another Middle Tennessee kid, has been the ace.

Cal Stark from Knoxville hasn’t hit well, but he’s finally given us a presence behind the plate who can control opponents’ running game. And Omaha is the kind of place where guys who haven’t been stars all year suddenly start hitting or pitching lights out. Maybe, just maybe, for Stark…

Also, who didn’t think Beam would do this? I said Sunday, if we can win G2 and get it to G3, Beam will nut up and get us to Omaha. Kid just has that clutch gene.

Hot take: if Beam starts G3 against ND last year, Tennessee goes to the CWS and avoids the upset.

I also really like seeing all the Tennessee kids on the roster. Especially at the expense of Vandy. Sounds like we have a few more in the pipeline coming next season.

Yeah, no Blade Tidwell; a middle Tennessean too. My Mom is friends with his Grandmother; they are in the same sunday school class; she told my Mom that they were all Bammers until Blade signed with the Vols. They had to change their allegiance! On a side note; I met her at my Aunt's wake about nine months ago. She said that Blade's little brother is a pretty good player too, but I think he still has about three more years of HS left.
