Presently in America, nearly half of all households receive either a salary or substantial benefits from the government. Presently in America, nearly half of all adults pay no federal income taxes. Presently in America, the half that pays no income taxes receive the bulk of their income courtesy of the government, but ultimately from the half that do. This money is extracted involuntarily from the paying half by a permanent bureaucracy that extracts and gives away more each year no matter who is running the government. The recipients of these transfer payments rely upon them for subsistence, so they have a vested financial interest in sending to Washington those who will continue to take your money and give it to them.

Hate to agree with fox news, but...

I'm sick of working. It's my turn to be on welfare.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.”

More to come re ObamaCare.

From the bill/law:

**
Page 50/section 152: The bill will provide insurance to
all non-U.S. residents, even if they are here illegally.

**
Page 58 and 59: The government will have real-time access to an
individual's bank account and will have the authority to make
electronic fund transfers from those accounts.

**
Page 65/section 164: The plan will be subsidized (by the
government) for all union members, union retirees and for
community organizations (such as the Association
of Community Organizations for Reform Now -
ACORN).

**
Page 203/line 14-15: The tax imposed under this section
will not be treated as a tax. (How could anybody in their
right mind come up with that?)

**
Page 241 and 253: Doctors will all be paid the same
regardless of specialty, and the government will set all
doctors' fees.

**
Page 272. section 1145: Cancer hospital will ration care
according to the patient's age.

**
Page 317 and 321: The government will impose a prohibition on
hospital expansion; however, communities may petition for an
exception.

**
Page 425, line 4-12: The government mandates advance-care
planning consultations. Those on Social Security will be
required to attend an "end-of-life planning" seminar every five
years. (Death counseling..)

**
Page 429, line 13-25: The government will specify
which doctors can write an end-of-life order.

So everyone who has posted here against the government subsidizing income agrees that full-time workers must be paid enough to live on without said subsidies (e.g., a much higher minimum wage)?

When someone quotes Fox News, I am reminded of the statement attributed to P.T. Barnum . . . "There's a sucker born every minute".

Minimum wage does nothing expect keep the undesirables out of the workforce and, of course, as a political football for dimwits.

I think there is too much momentum going towards the statist direction to turn it around. In 50 years, I don't think the US will be the same 50 states that it is now. Something will have to give.

So basically your just screaming liberal media is lying about all that. You know after awhile the whole "The liberal media is spreading propagada" stuff gets just as old as the hardcore left wingers still blaming everything on Bush. Also that is a blog nothing more than someones opinion, are you trying to be like gsvol now?

If I'm not mistaken, that link is to the website that someone else posted a link to yesterday on another thread. The end of that particular article ended with a claim about "Team Romney" hopefully overcoming the evil liberal media bias against him. You're right: it's just someone's opinion and not credible news. Furthermore, whenever I've looked at Politifact, they seem fairly impartial. That's not to say they are completely fair (heck, I don't know what the facts are myself), but they seem to give a relatively honest try at arriving at the facts.

Here's another way to read the bill regarding govt. access to your bank accounts:

"Page 59: The federal government will have direct, real-time access to all individual bank accounts for electronic funds transfer. Barely True: Section 163 sets out goals for electronic health records. One of the goals is to include features that "enable electronic funds transfers, in order to allow automated reconciliation" between payment and billing. The legislative summary says the intent in the section is "to adopt standards for typical transactions" between insurance companies and health care providers. The legislation generically describes typical electronic banking transactions and does not outline any special access privileges."

It's Andrew Breitbarts website/blog. The guy is (actually was) a well known conservative. The article/blog was saying how Romneys team not releasing tax returns was smart because it's not playing into Team Obamas strategy of distracting people from the economy.
