In 1970 our team was returning home from playing East Carolina. While approaching the airport on a foggy, rainy night, the plane crashed just before the runway and killed everyone on board. Our entire program was wiped out except for a few players that didn't make the trip due to injuries. There was talk of folding up the program and doing away with it. We decided to try to rebuild with anyone welling to walk up and try out for the team. Warner Brothers heard about our story and decided it would make a great movie. They have expressed how touched and moved they are after digging into what really happened and how this small town over came what is known as the greatest sports story never told. This movie is our true story of rising from the ashes and building what we have today. I hope each of you enjoy it and you can click on the link below to view the trailer. The movie comes out in Dec.

Hey guys, just wanted to say that I'm looking forward to a good game this Saturday. I'd love to make it down for the game, but that's just not possible this year. I was in town for our last meeting and had a wonderful time - great fans, great team, and some of the best stadium food I've ever had (I'm drooling just thinking about it). Granted, "Rocky Top" haunted me in my sleep for a few weeks, but it was still a great trip even though we lost. Anyway, I hope your team has a safe game, and I'm looking forward to talking with you guys in the next few days!

Thank you all for greeting us Herd Fans with such warmth and class and we welcome you all over to our board at herdnation.com if you get a chance. Very friendly people and excellent tradition in program. I'll be making my first trip down there saturday and I've been looking forward to it since I placed my ticket order. Hope to get to meet some of you while I'm there. Here's to a safe and competetive atmosphere.

GO HERD!

Yes, I will be checking out the movie when it comes out. I heard about this tragedy when I was a kid. While not a huge fan, I've always kinda pulled for Marshall because of the tragedy, unless you're playing against the Big Orange of course.

Might I also add Apollo that you have an exceptionally hot avatar.

I remember that day. I was in High school but remember it well. What a story of the town and School. I can't wait to see it.

Hope you all have a safe trip to Knoxville and welcome to VOL land.
