We are meaningless: Change my mind

Psalm 139:13-16 ESV
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

Thought this was about our status in college football. Carry on with the meaningless drivel.

You’re spewing meaningless drivel in a forum labeled The Pub to complain about “meaningless drivel.” Nobody forced your hand to be in here.

This is some pretty interesting stuff to me.

Do you believe that God is a human like being or something else completely?

Stick your finger in a glass of water and pull it out. The hole that is left is about as much of an impact and meaning as we have on this Earth.

Sure.. a few will live on in our history books and stories, but for the most part we are a bunch of animals trying to survive.

He is certainly not a "humanlike being," in the physical sense of the word. His existence is eternal/infinite and transcendent, his power unlimited, and He is perfectly Holy and just.

We were created "in his image" and for specific purpose. The Bible is not clear on what exactly "image" includes, but we were given the unique faculties of love, mercy, justice, grace, etc that surely reflect his nature.

After the fall, and due to sin, we live separated from God, with a marred (but not destroyed) image of God. With belief and salvation, we begin a process of sanctification -- becoming more like Him through our walk, until we are perfected in our eternal state.
