I have heard for 3 years how this team can no longer press the basketball. I have heard crazy things from "we are too long now" to "we just don't have the right kind of quickness to press." I'm sorry, I know it's a small sample, but when our team presses tonight and forces a turnover and 2 timeouts to be called in less than a minute, I believe someone should quit defending their players and just come out and say that we can't press because we have a team full of lazy, primadonna pansies who squeal like a girl when they get fouled and are too pretty too scrap and press for 40 minutes. This message is directly aimed at the same guys that were bending over trying to pick up a loose ball on the floor against Kentucky while Harrelson was on the floor scrapping and clawing to get the ball like a man. Here is to forgetting this year ever happened and thinking of the good old days when we had half the athletic "talent" yet were twice the basketball team.

today i saw some guy rip away the ball from brian. there should be excuse for that. as big as brian is, nobody should rip the ball away from him..

yes, the refing has been so bad all year against us, it seem the refs are gonna make sure bruce pays

I don't care about the refs nor did I say anything about the officiating. I am referring to the fact that the only player willing to get down and dirty on our whole team is Steven Pearl who is not a very good basketball player.

I saw both Golden and Hall on the floor scrapping a couple of times in the last two games. Anyhow, I say again that being "the pressing team" has much more to do with attitude than skills. (And that more usable skills make "the pressing team" into "the great pressing team".) Pearl has long since abandonded the attitude necessary to really be that team.

I thought our press looked great at the end it just needed to be implemented more often.I dont understand why our style of play has changed from the last few years because it still works if we dont over force the break. If we dont get over anxious it seems to work great.Playing the clock and forcing a prayer is our downfall though.

this year has killed bp. he wasn't focused because of all the problems. if he didn't have the off court problems, he might could have focused on us being more hungry.

The attitude started when our "athletes" decided they couldn't play good enough defense to press. Tonight, I watched Chandler Parsons just blow by Hopson on a drive. I don't think anyone should question who is the better athlete, but it's like some of our better players are just too good to do the little things that are necessary to win the close ones.

I want to go back to Controlled Chaos. This new Pearl ball sucks

At some point you have to go back three years (?) to what Hat said an NBA guy told him -- that Pearl was outrecruiting his system. "Pearl's system is alleycat ball, but now he's getting fat cats. He needs alleycats." Something like that. It's turned out to be a fairly prescient comment -- Pearl's recruiting has been good, but he's never really seemed to make it all work quite right.

You can't field a championship team without top-level recruits. You aren't going to find a lot of top-level recruits who want to play in a pressing, 40 minutes of hell type system. There's a mismatch.

As much as they let down in the half court and how lazy they are... What do u think pressing and running them up and down the court will do? And Brian williams couldn breath in the last three min while we were pressing... Maybe Pearl is on to somethin .. Crap who knows anymore

What about last year we didnt press and we made to the elite 8 .

Yeah, and this one time, at band camp....

Elite 8 or not, it was a lot more fun to watch. I'll take sweet 16's every year with chaos, vs an elite 8 every 3 or 4 years with this crap. I find this offense to be offensive.

We had athletic ball players with the will to win.... via Chism Prince they carried us at times

We have the athletic players better than any year since pearl has been here. They just don't have that toughness and pesky players like a jajuan smith. If you started golden, mcbee, pearl, and hall and one more maybe bone that could be those players but then you have no offense even if we press someone has too finish.

Not quick enough to press and we're too big. Goins, Bone, and Golden are probably the only ones that could decently

That was one of those one in a million shots where the path was cleared before us. . .and none of us thought we had a shot to get there during the season. Since the first few years of enjoyment, Pearl ball has been a frustrating endeavor for us fans. . .painful to watch, even when they win.

If Pearl stays. He needs to get back to what made him . A pressing fast pace team with an outside shooter
