personally i hope the school dismisses the rest of the knoxville mafia. We just showed that we dont need them to win.

you really think swiperboy is any less 'thuggish'? it shocks me that in Tennessee, the land of guns in bars, parks, and restaurants, these kids are now worthless thugs for being around a gun. you can't have it both ways. you live in the gun-lovingest state outside of texas. a pistol should be expected at this point. unless they put a sign on their car saying 'no guns allowed'.

The guns that people in TN love are Rifles, black powder, and shotguns, Semiautomatic pistols with scratched off serial numbers are not exactly the guns we have in our houses. Plus is carrying around a bag full off pot, with two handguns that was altered serial numbers doesn't make you a thug..... what does?

Swiperboy is the equivalent of B-rad from Malibu's Most Wanted. He is absolutely not a gangsta ala Ramar or Tyler Smith.

what is 'thug' about a semi auto pistol? The issue is the nature of the firearms identification number, and (not sure about TN carry laws) the method in which it was carried/stored in a vehicle.

...... Thats what i said....:wink2: The fact that the pistols had altered serial numbers is what makes them thugs.

It could also make you a dumb redneck! (Not calling you a redneck)I don't know how much researching you have done but i know a bunch of regular people who have automatic rifles. It's your right to have weapons, maybe not weapons with altered serial numbers! You can't say just becuase they had an automatic weapon they should be kicked off the team. Would you rather them carry a shotgun?

Im pretty sure swiperboy isnt a thug. just because he raps doesnt mean he's out doing drugs and getting b**chs and flashing his 9mm like everyone thinks. he goes to class, makes grades and is actually somewhat articulate.

the only thugs on our team were williams and smith and smith is gone and hopefully williams behind him. the remaining guys are flourishing without the thug life mentality of a few players and it obviously shows

For everyone saying owning semi auto handguns doesnt make you a thug i agree. Which is why I put what I put in my OP. ALTERED SERIAL NUMBERS guys...... read. I've got a semi auto taurus 9mm in my nightstand, havn't touched the serial number on it. 12guage, and .270 bolt action rifle in my gun cabinet. none have altered serial numbers. I also don't transport bags of pot while carrying handguns either.

im not ready to call guys carrying pistols thugs. It is a part of most of there culture, lets face it these guys grow up in tough nieghborhoods, and everyone they know carries guns. Its even encouraged at times
I think if they patted down many of our favorite fball and bball players they majority of them would have guns.
Having said that you scratch off the serial # then you get what you deserve

"Thug" is a strong word, and I was torn apart on here a a few months ago for mentioning it when Jajuan was arrested for assault. But with Jajuan's arrest, Ramar's many rumored/alleged activities around Knoxville, and the recent incident, it's become perfectly clear that there were some very bad influences on this basketball team.

In the past, I think that Bruce tried to take in troubled young men and help them develop into mature adults. In the future, I would think that Bruce will place a much higher emphasis on the character of the players that he recruits. CBP, the program, and the university cannot afford to take many more risks on athletes with questionable character. That being said, I think we are turning things around. Tobias Harris looks to be a good young man, and a great representative of our university.
