Big fish hire! I hope like hell it's gruden. But if not it still has to be huge. Our program is in diar straights! Hart needs to go to the b.o.t. and wealthy boosters and ask to do all they can and he must be able to offer huge money. No way around it. We've tried the "value" route and it just hasn't worked out. Twice!! We need to offer a huge contract to a huge fish. Just like bama did when they we're in about the same situation as us. I hope hart agrees.

Money is not an issue. Even though we didn't make a bowl game, we share in the revenues of TV and all the bowl money. Should rake about $25 million in the off season.

Just read. You're right...we're obviously in agreement. I feel like bama gave us the blueprint. They, like us, fumbled several times. But ultimately put up huge money for the big splash hire and it's obviously worked out. The difference in the costs for the coaching staff is nothing compared to the difference in revenue produced by winning/losing programs. I just hope hart gets it

The Big Fish Hire? I hope your correct but I'm not holding my breath...I'm not sure a Big Name Coach wants to take on the responsibility of a rebuilding job as difficult as the Vols are facing....most fans simply don't realize how far down our talent has fallen....it will be a Huge and extremely difficult rebuilding job to get back to the top SEC. We may as well get used to being patient because it is going to take us years to compete for the SEC championship

When we get low star players, volnation says hidden gem, underrated, not evaluated properly etc. etc. to hype him up

We will get a mediocre coach, hype him so much that it will eventually lead to his death and disappointment to fan!

On the other hand, Hart has not tried his hands in the "value" route. It was all MH. So he might try that route!

Big fish hire will not be a Cutcliff/Chavis combo. Cutcliff is staying at Duke, and Chavis will only return as HC.

Yeah he did. And he had less talent. Urban Meyer's Utah team probably would have lost to Fulmer, had they played UT in 2004. Doesn't change the fact that once he had comparable talent, he dominated.

Talent or not, if you think hiring a coach who lost to Dooley is moving in the right direction, so be it.
But I understand what you are saying. One game does not a career make.
