It was ugly today, but as I've said after every loss this year, there's no reason to get down. We knew that beating Bama this year was a long shot. Bama has much more talent than us, and they've had stability, with a great coaching staff for years. We'll get there eventually.

Missouri is going to be a difficult opponent, too, but I think they are more vulnerable than their ranking would indicate. They are #5 right now, but they've mostly beaten up on a bunch of nobodies. Mizzou has had two quality wins against Georgia and Florida, and both were impressive. Nevertheless, we do have the talent to compete with them. In a way, I kind of hope they beat SC tonight, so we get them undefeated.

Here's to better fortunes next week, and continuing to build this program "brick by brick."

Mizzou is not Bama or the Ducks but they are a handful at home.

I think we've got a great shot with Dobbs. To be that poised as a freshman on the road in a hostile environment blew me away. We couldve kept this game within two touchdowns with Dobbs in the whole game. I have no doubt about that.

Two of the nobodies that Mizzou has beaten both beat UT. You guys crack me up.

If i know spurrrier, he will expose mizzou and open the door for UT to win next week. As for the qbs, we are in a catch 22 now. We have Worley's experience and Dobbs seems to be more effective partially due to his willingness to run. Who gets the start next week? It is a moot point if Worley's thumb is still injured. Dobbs looked good and wouldve looked better if there hadnt been dropped balls. We have been counting on a win against mizzou and need it to get the season going back in the right direction.

We have no reason to think we're better than Mizzou. If we beat Mizzou, it will be an upset and we will have to play lightyears better than we played today. We didn't play like we wanted it today, and if we don't want it enough next week, we'll get our asses handed to us again.

Dobbs first start. As a TRUE freshman. On the road. To a likely still top 5 team.

Don't get your hopes up

Makes me wonder what coach was thinking.

Missouri is ranked 5th right now. It'll be a long day at MO next week so don't kid yourself into thinking an upset on the road there. They're a good football team & came back to beat us last year in our house.

We need to play better than we have thus far on the road to beat Mizzou. At Oregon, UF, and Bama haven't been pretty. A ton of self-inflected damage done in all three of those games.

We won't be beating mizzou.

"We Beat USCe and We Can Beat Bama!"

We Lost to Bama but we can beat Mizzou!"

it never stops

I see the doom parade is already out. It was WOE IS ME after the Florida, Oregon, and USA games. We were going to go 5-7 without any big wins. We had no more "winnable" games other than Kentucky. A few weeks later, we were within inches of beating Georgia, before knocking off South Carolina.

This is what rebuilding looks like, folks. It's not always pretty and you don't always come out playing better the next game regardless of opponent. It normally comes with a lot of ups and downs. So long as there are there are the "ups", we're fine.

Anyone that thinks Mizzou is top 5 is out of their mind. Missouri is a great club, and they were very underrated before the season, but now they are very overrated. This is a top 25 or top 20 club; not a top 5 club.

It's not going to be easy. I'm not saying we're going to go into Columbia and blow them away. I just think that we have the talent to win the game; or at least play them close.

Expecting anything other than a blowout vs Bama was simply being naive. Bama's personnel is on a totally different level than ours, and has been coached up for years, rather than coached down. We are much closer in talent to Mizzou.

It only took 2 hours to expose the 'Missouri is impossible to beat' crap.

Look people, Mizzou is not a top 5 squad. They have 2 quality wins this year against banged-up Florida and Georgia squads. The other 5 wins came against nobodies. If they played our schedule, they'd be 5-3 right now, with losses to S. Carolina, Oregon, and Bama.

Yes, they are a good team. Probably deserving of a top 25, or even top 20 ranking. They are not the #5 team in the nation, though. They are not anywhere near the level of Alabama or Oregon. They are closer to South Carolina and Georgia.

It'll be a difficult game, but it's a winnable one for the Vols.
