Our program is not in the shape to take an up-and-comer. Fedora, Strong, Golden, and Kirby Smart have all not proven enough to deserve the Tennessee job. If we cant get Gruden we have to make a homerun hire that will make recruits flock here ex. Saban at Alabama or Calipari at UK. Bash me if you want but thats my opinion.

I was about to start a thread about this and your 100% right. The time is now. This program can not handle another setback. The hole keeps getting deeper and we need a proven winner to dig us out, because if we don't we will dig ourself into a hole that cant be dug out of.

Well apparently even Golden doesn't want to come to UT...He said "I will absolutely be the HC at Miami next year."

Not bashing at all but I would like for you to finish your post. Tell us who the home runs are at this point. I don't disagree with you- we do need a home run. But after Gruden, where do we turn in your opinion? (Please humor me by not listing any coaches who have already turned us down, are under NCAA show cause clauses or are swimming in more Nike money than we could ever compete with.) I'm serious- I think we're running out of home run options.

Off the top of my head I cant think of anyone. But with the money the school has given the AD and his resources he should be able to get a big name to come here. I just dont want Dooley 2.0

I think of Tressell or Urban, who came from smaller schools and rose to prominence extremely fast and I just can't help thinking that UT would never be able to pull a hire off that. If it isn't a home run I am hoping Hart gets someone good. Kelly went from Cincy to ND and in the championship game in a few years. Stoops was a coordinator then landed the UOK job and had a NC a few years after (or 1 year). I am with you..

I'm thinking if we don't get Gruden or a home run hire, the world as we know it will end.. Simple as that. Dave Hart needs to understand that...... Its called "sarcasm" for those who missed it ;-)
