We need a Video Coordinator as an Interim....why?

What exactly will the team be doing in this span that he is going to be interim?

They are going to hire a coach. You have to have someone in charge of the players. Also, Fancher has been a Head Coach before at Appy State and Pearl's assistants have all been let go. Who else is going to be in charge of the team until the administration hires their guy?

You sir would make a great head coach for Tennesse if you think during the interim they do nothing..Recruiting comes to mind...DUH

And to say an interim is just someone to report to...is assinine.

Nothing important. My guess is that somebody has to turn on the lights in the morning and lock the doors in the afternoon, so they picked the guy least likely to hitch a ride in Bruce's car on the way out of town.

Naming the video coordinator as interim is a clear sign that lyls is correct. Naming Jones or Forbes might have been misconstrued, and coming on the heels of the Kippy fiasco, nobody wanted that to happen.

Thanks, I would be a great head coach is I could work based on hindsight. Also, I'm pretty sure UT has done all the recruiting they were going to do to close out the '11 season. Now, get your panties out of a wad and have a beer to relax.

I do...if you think the recruiting is done, maybe you should read all the sound bites of the "recruits" we did have now jumping ship, tell me if Tennessee didnt have a well know coach or one in the offing that those recruits might not take a wait and see stance. But no...they want out! Cant blame em..

You must be a Mike Hamilton fan too

I think the Alumni at Tennessee should take a NCAA stance, if the AD lies to us, your out.

I'm done. Obviously you haven't read everything saying Hamilton did literally anything he could to try to save Bruce.

PS - an interim coach isn't going to recruit, no matter who it is. The replacement will. What is the interim going to say to a recruit? "Hey kid, come to Tennessee. I might not be here but for 2 weeks, but come play for me".

Kippy Brown was a great coach and a great person, but even he lost recruits and to my knowledge didn't sign anyone new. The replacement is going to be the only coach the recruits want to talk to. Kippy couldn't even keep Jacques Smith as a firm commitment, one of the guys who grew up a UT fan. A temporary coach is not going to fix the recruiting mess.
