and earning a starting kicking position at least in one game in a regular season game in his career. $50,000 will be donated (apparently) to a charity by Clay Travis if Palardy is ever named and plays as starting kicker in a game. He made this bet(promise) on the radio. Cheering for Palardy, not only for his career but that he can help out needy kids or battered women and actually stand for a good cause. Travis on the other hand was just likely being a horse's ass as usual and using it as a way to shoot down Palardy. Travis probably doesn't have the $50,000 to donate but he wants to be a big boy. I'm guessing I earn more than Travis annually and I can't donate $50,000, I must admit. GO PALARDY AND GBO!!!!!!

I'll be sure and pull all the strings I have with the New York Jets

Thank you! It would be cool to see him make it after the awesome year he had bouncing back. Travis fails to accept that Palardy was injured for two years and had virtually zero coaching until last year. Travis is known for unwarranted statements. It would be awesome to see him be held accountable for once.

Seriously doubt he could (or would) pony up the dough. Should let Palardy kick him in his girl parts instead.

Of course Vol fans are backing him; the kid has a lot of heart, but unfortunately none of us have much influence on these decisions- not even those who are media.

Classless does not start to describe this if he said it.

Heads and he helps out the needy, tails and he can say I told you so and now the needy will do without.

What a piece of work!

Unfortunately, whether or not Travis is parted with his money probably comes down to the specifics of the bet. If he specified place kicker he'll win the bet. If he included punter, which is where he seems more likely to stick on a roster, then he'll probably have to pay up. Ultimately, for a blowhard prick like Travis to even propose the bet is ashamed.....betting against a 21 year old kid to reach his dream of playing in the NFL. Not a Travis fan.

Would love to see palardy do well in the nfl, just not for the jets! If he does become the starter for them I hope he kicks like its 2012 when playing my beloved dolphins.

Travis just said that he will never be a starting kicker on an NFL team. He did not specify place kicker as the position. He later argued that he didn't mean punter and that he only meant place kicker. But technically speaking both the punter and the place kicker are the Kickers. Because there is not a football position that is just called kicker. And technically speaking punting the ball is kicking the ball and by definition a punter is a kicker so I say either way he loses this. The other hosts called him out on this. But we all know Travis will try to wiggle out of it someway when Palardy is named a starter.

but for Travis to use this as a way to take a shot at Palardy is tasteless and classless because at the end of the day if he doesn't then needy people will suffer and Travis shouldn't use them as an example so to speak to make his stupid point

The funny thing about all this is Travis just kinda seemed like he wanted to act like a rich big shot. But he isn't. He probably does pretty well, but I doubt he's getting rich. Best of luck to him though. I hope he is successful. I actually like Travis and his show. I just think this whole thing was a low for him and a foot in the mouth kinda situation. Palardy may have just instantly out earned Travis by the stroke of an pen. Palardy actually comes from money and from a family that more than likely are big donaters to some kind of charitable cause. Palardy went to high school at St. Thomas Aquinas and Travis went to MLK in Nashville I think (which is public). Good school, but public.

I don't like clay travis by any means, but not sure why we're trying to compare our paychecks to his. I'd wager owning your own website that gets bought by any of the major networks, and appearing on said networks quite often, pays pretty well.

We know it worked for Bill Simmons at least.
