I understand teams lose from time to time, but there are three inexcusable losses the last few weeks on this team. The games at home against Georgia and Miss. State are infuriating and you can throw in the clusterf-ck that was the end of the Florida game as well. In the home games, we basically let two teams that shouldn't have been within 15 of us at the buzzer go on epic runs and then couldn't match their intensity for the whole 40 minutes.

I simply don't get this team. We should not be 17-12, nor even close. I have to wonder if there are chemistry issues on top of our limitations in ball handling and other areas. This team plays with less heart and more selfishness than any other Pearl team. It's endlessly frustrating to watch this garbage game in and game out.

I dont really see the chemistry / selfishness angle. We are a horrendous shooting team handcuffed further by lack of any offensive direction. PG play hurts, but is good enough. We absolutely have to defend, board and go to loose balls hard to beat people. We often have one guy going to the D boards ad one guy making a defensive effort. That's how a team like ours gets beat every week.

No, we should be. We don't play consistent defense, we suck in late game situations (and we have had 7 or 8 this year), and our offense is an abomination the game of basketball.

One things for sure, I'm tired of going down to TBA and getting our ass beat. That's 7 and counting.

In my experience, teams that perform with effort generally correlates to teams with chemistry. This isn't the first team under Pearl to have limitations with the PG, defense and poor shooters.

Anyone else notice how Goins always tries to be the hero in the last three to four minutes?

But it's the first with all of those issues AND no shooters to bail it out or someone who could get a shot. Can't suck on both ends and expect to win.

We also can't underestimate the disappearance of Tatum as a contributor to our woes. He doesn't rebound, score or defend any more. That hurts our length that was a luxury early.

I agree on the Tatum part and I thought about mentioning it in my initial post.

However, I remember the team two years ago have many of the same issues and I never thought they were half-assing it on multiple occasions.

The half adding is an issue, especially on the glass and D. Some of it is leadership void, much coaching and lack of demand.

So we were picked 4th in the east this year. Are we used to being so good we can't handle this? Or, maybe the Big East 11 will all be out after the first round!?

I don't care I think with Tennessee's early big wins they should be in. I think the way UT plays will make them very interesting in the tournament. You just don't know what team you will be facing. Kentucky is a lot like that this year for the tournament.

The SEC is about to produce maybe not the best tournament teams this year, but I think for sure the scariest for top seeds to play.

Underperformance is underperformance.

I don't see how we can't cover the guy off the screen at the top of the key. EVERY TIME that guy hits the shot. Every single time. MSU must have shot 70% over the last 10 minutes of that game. Mostly due to guys being wide open.

Thanks for the education. Couldn't have found that out by looking at a box score.

Again, it was directly refuting a comment. Maybe you need lessons about this Interwebs thing.

First, assume everyone here uses google. Second, say less stupid crap when you call everyone lazy. Third, just don't.

Why would I assume everyone uses google when people post nonsense all the time. So according to you posting a thread is against the rules. I'll be sure to check that with Freak.
