We See You Kortney & Kasi

Shout out to Rennia Davis for POG. And a big UP to Annie Hayes for her big time 3pt shots.

But there is ONE player that stood out amongst the scoring leaders.

Kortney Dunbar playing in the paint. She played and scored. Not only scored but actually dribble penetration in the lane to score! I haven't seen her do that with consistency.

I was like YES! She's done it before what's taken her so long? Oh I know the one who won't be mentioned in this thread has kept Kortney from being the best that she can be, that's who.

Now if Kortney is allowed to do that and get set up for her 3pt shooting The Lady Vols could be a dangerous team. But I'm not holding my breath because of you know who.

Kudos to Tennessee for hanging in there. That 2nd quarter tho (Not AGAIN). :disappointed:

Good game Kortney! I hope you get another opportunity (That's an odd thing to say for a senior who's a 3pt specialist and now has proven beyond a doubt that she can play in the post). One PERSON stands in her way. And she ain't going to be mentioned.

Nice seeing Kasi in the game long overdue. I hope it's not too late. Kasi needs to get lots of reps. Don't know why she hasn't but I know who's kept her from it. The one that won't be mentioned in this thread.

Kamera Harris is MIA. Sad for Harris. I hope she decides to take advantage of a transfer to a school that will take advantage of her skill set.

So you're saying a coach is telling KD not to drive to the hoop when it's there. Hmm.. Does that make sense to anyone? The second quarter is why other players don't see much playing time. Do you want to win the game or do you prefer to lose and watch everybody play? I'll take the win myself. Holly is by far not the best coach in the game but some of you pull stuff out of your hiney that makes little to no sense.

I think the bottom line is Holly is well-liked by most, but she certainly lacks when it comes to coaching this team. Even the Pro-Holly people see it, she just has enough talent now to overcome some of her inability to coach effectively. Lets hope she keeps bringing in the talent.

It also shows what a project player KD has been. For players do things in a game setting, they need to have confidence in their skill set. Obviously, putting the ball on the floor and beating people off the dribble is not something that KD felt competent in doing in her preceding seasons.

Last year, you saw going inside and posting up a bit more so her game has gradually evolved. She actually now has a decent offensive skill set and looked good against Ole Miss. The problem is that she is still really a liability on defense. That is the quagmire she presents to the coaching staff.

I like Dunbar. The only thing I wish is that she would work on her quickness and defense position. She has the tools.

She needs to tell the ladies to stop forcing the ball into MR, she needs to tell them to take open shots when MR is covered. She needs to tell the ladies to quite making the middle a welcome mat to the goal. She also needs to tell MR to be more aggressive. She also needs to tell the ladies not to stand around on offense. Now unless we are recruiting a bunch of clueless players they should get it, if not maybe Holly needs to demand that not only they get it but do it. If the players are ignoring their head coach, maybe it is time to get in the players’ grills.

I mean come on. After the last two seasons and now the complete meltdowns against Tamu, Notre Dame & MS this season. It's literally the same ole same ole. The inconsistencies are glaring. The thing is the players change from season to season but one thing remain the same.

The coach.

I still have hope things will get better and that the team makes it to the Final Four and win it all.

The fact remains for me is that CHW has turned my dreams into nightmares the last two seasons.
