team chemistry just changed. Coach has got to tell V Bailey and JJJ to stay of 3 pt line and be role players….gotta happen . They are important players but it s not their offense. They are valuable with their defense and rebounding. You can’t count on‘em to score consistently. And this guy was unheard of. Got to give CRB and staff mad props for signing him.
The problem is telling V Bailey and JJJ to stay of 3 pt line and be role players….gotta happen . They are important players but it s not their offense That is valuable it is their defense and rebounding You can’t count on‘em to score consistently.

They cannot shoot the rock …evidenced by last year also …ain’t their game yet…would love for it to change
I was basing my previous statement on specifically V Bailey and James. The Team cannot afford for these two to shoot the 3’s. True that Bailey or James might get hot one night, you can’t consistently count on either of them . For the evidence it would be their shooting %’s . I’ll check it out…4 of 29 this year on 3’s . James is 1/15 , Bailey 3/14 …have to get back witcha on last yearThrough four games this year, UT overall shooting is 44.6%, from three is 37%, and FT line is 75.5.
last year those numbers were 43.9%, 33.0%, and 74.6%
Yesterday's game those numbers were: 54.3%, 45%, & 80%. Huge increases. Anyone who watched that game understands that with Zeigler in the mix, our outside shooting % are going up, and if our guards will shoot that well, so will our shooting % go up in the paint. It's only one game, true, but it may be a sign of things to come. So it just might change for us.
I don't know how these stack up against a national average for D1 schools, I tried but can't get that information. Maybe. you can present evidence needed that so we can see how this team stacks up against the competition vs shooting %.

Shot selection is part of that equation. Good FT% can indicate a good shooter but then you look at their FG% and 3pt% and wonder why those numbers are low. And a lot of the time it is poor shot selection. Great shooters won't shoot a good % if they take all difficult shots.Bailey is a very good shooter. He hits close to 85% of his free throws. I just wish that he’d shoot less when he is having a bad shooting day. He needs to be able to add value elsewhere when he’s cold.
Other teams will be sure they are open. Trust meJames shot 30.4 % from three last season, and Bailey shot about 34%. That is a better measure of who they are w/respect to 3 pt shooting than a small sample of this year's games. James was ill the first game of the tourney on Saturday. I think they'll be fine, at the least will revert to last season-like numbers. I agree they shouldn't be our front line 3 point shooters, though. But they have to take some to keep defenses honest. If they get hot, then pour it on. If not, take only open threes.
The one thing he needed to do this year in order to not get passed over in the rotation was have a consistent outside shot. His start to the year has basically precluded that.Bailey is a very good shooter. He hits close to 85% of his free throws. I just wish that he’d shoot less when he is having a bad shooting day. Is is considered a shot when he loses control going up for the shot? Dude does this more than anybody I’ve seenBailey is a very good shooter. He hits close to 85% of his free throws.
