UT over Cal.

The media darling pick of Ark won't happen by a mile though.

UAB has some senior experience on their offense dont count em out against the bomar less OU , i know they still have peterson but there is still a chance of an upset

No way. I'd take UT over Cal, GT over ND, or Ark over USC before that pick any day. UAB lost last year's best player, their QB. Hackett was his name, I think. I'm pretty sure Oklahoma would beat these guys by a safe margin playing only their second stringers.

OU is favored by 21, and my 3 resources all say OU covers (they predict: OU by 21', OU by 27, OU by 28).

UT - Cal should be a PK, but I'm not betting UT games ever, nor would -2 be anything different than a PK.

GT is +8, but should really be +5'. I just don't have the cajones to pick GT.

Arkansas is +8, but I think it's closer to +7.

If you truly want a possible upset in terms of lines, Rutgers could likely go into North Carolina and pull the upset (UNC is -5'). But nobody cares for those 2 teams. :)

I wouldn't really consider a UT win over Cal an upset. Sure, they are ranked higher but its a home game for you, the first game of the year, and I think the line is, what, two points? Either team winning that game would not be an upset.

Oh the GT fans are going nuts here....I know three Tech grads who had siblings that went to ND. I think there is some latent Catholic connection with GT. There seems to be a rivalry here and some family feuds in the making.

The matchup is at least intiguing though. Part of the fun of tuning into a Tech game is you never know if they are going to get beaten by Wake Forest or scare the daylights out of a top team.

I've seen some people picking Marshall over West Virginia. I'm of the opinion that WVU is wildly overrated, the 2005 Vols of 2006 if you will, so I'd like to see that happen.

I agree...they could lose to carson-newman one week and beat miami the next...funny things always going on at the school across the street from the Varsity.

1. San Diego State will upset UTEP

2. Baylor has a good shot at TCU

3. and Northern Illinois will cover against Ohio St.

Mississippi State over South Carolina. What a way to launch the 06 football season. The Ol ball coach has always had trouble with the bulldogs.

Yes he has. I won't be betting on this game because the line is too perfect, so I guess I don't think MSU will do it, but it's possible. I don't think there will be any wild upsets this first week. Your best upset come right in the middle of the season, when nobody expects it.

However, Idaho will cover +29 @ Michigan State.

Even though its never going to happen in like a million years....it would be nice for my the washington state cougars to get a win over Auburn this saturday.
