I thought this would be a fun thread to do. Post the top five games you look forward to watching, not including the Vols game (as it would be an obvious choice for the slackers among us). I'll post, you guys follow suit.
1. Miami at Florida State
Is it possible to determine almost entirely how a conference will turn out in the first week of football? In a word, yes. Even with Bowden's problems at FSU, I still think this is the game to determine who's got the inside track at the ACC title.
2. Boise State at Georgia
Lots of questions to be answered. Can the mid-majors truly keep up with the big boys and be considered legit? In Mark Richt's first big test of the season, will he start truly proving to be the next mainstay power coach of the SEC? Should be a very good game.
3. Bowling Green at Wisconsin
Time to see what Omar Jacobs can do against a better BCS school. Will be a big test to see if Bowling Green's offense is the real deal and if Wisconsin can stop them, can they then move on and continue to compete in the Big Ten?
4. Virginia Tech at NC State
Another early, big ACC showdown. Anybody who loves to watch all-out defensive battles should watch this one. NC State's defensive line is possibly as talented as our own, and Virginia Tech returns 6 players from a very good defensive unit from last season.
5. Notre Dame at Pittsburgh
Should be a decent matchup early on. Two coaches fresh out of the NFL going head to head here. Each has their strengths and weaknesses, and should also set the tone for how each team will do.
