I thought this would be a fun thread to do. Post the top five games you look forward to watching, not including the Vols game (as it would be an obvious choice for the slackers among us). I'll post, you guys follow suit.

1. Miami at Florida State
Is it possible to determine almost entirely how a conference will turn out in the first week of football? In a word, yes. Even with Bowden's problems at FSU, I still think this is the game to determine who's got the inside track at the ACC title.

2. Boise State at Georgia
Lots of questions to be answered. Can the mid-majors truly keep up with the big boys and be considered legit? In Mark Richt's first big test of the season, will he start truly proving to be the next mainstay power coach of the SEC? Should be a very good game.

3. Bowling Green at Wisconsin
Time to see what Omar Jacobs can do against a better BCS school. Will be a big test to see if Bowling Green's offense is the real deal and if Wisconsin can stop them, can they then move on and continue to compete in the Big Ten?

4. Virginia Tech at NC State
Another early, big ACC showdown. Anybody who loves to watch all-out defensive battles should watch this one. NC State's defensive line is possibly as talented as our own, and Virginia Tech returns 6 players from a very good defensive unit from last season.

5. Notre Dame at Pittsburgh
Should be a decent matchup early on. Two coaches fresh out of the NFL going head to head here. Each has their strengths and weaknesses, and should also set the tone for how each team will do.

BSU vs UGA UGA will wear them out after a while and run off with it. UGA is too big, strong, fast and deep for the pony's to keep up.

BG vs WISCONSIN DITTO from up above.

The problem for BSU and BG is that both UW and UGA has D's that will be too strong and fast and will disrupt what they do against other mid-majors that make them look so good.

All of UW and UGA starters could start at either of these two but hardly any of BSU or BG starters would even be 2nd team at UW or UGA.

just my :twocents:

My top 5 games I'm interested in...

1 Wyoming and UF: obvious reasons.

2 UM and F$U....always a war with some great defense played. Winner has the early inside track...but I dont think either will win the ACC.

3 NCSU and VT: my bro in law is an alum with an extra ticket so I may go with him to this game

4 Vols and UAB...definitely catch all the Vol games I can. Interested in seeing how complete a team UT has...prolly will not see the whole package in this game though.

5 Boise St and UGA..should be a great game..curious to see how the Dawgs look with what they've lost.

The difference is, IMO that Bowling Green has a more talented offense than Boise State (Dan Hawkins style is more scheme-based than reliant on talent), plus, while Wisconsin's defense was very good last year, they lost a LOT of talent. That's why I picked Bowling Green to beat the Badgers.

Id love to see NC St whip VT.
For the first half of the season i keep my eyes on the SEC play. But there are some opening games i always enjoy trying to catch like KY vs Louisville.

I should be at the miami-fsu game. It will be the only big 1A game I've been to that didn't involve the vols.
