For me, I'm going to try to go with some under-the-radar picks:

Offense --- Ollie Lane / Dayne Davis for the way they manned the center position, no snap issues, no penalties, no QB sacks, hits, hurries, or pressures allowed over 33 pass-blocking opportunities

Defense --- Kamal Hadden, played 29 snaps, 17 times dropped into coverage, 5 Targets, 0 Receptions, 2 PBUs

Offense - Wright
Defense - the entire unit played well. Hard to single an individual out.

Don't forget Dee Williams impact. He might be the player of the game

My votes are Jaylen Wright and Omari Thomas (really the whole D line).

I would have picked Wright if he hadn't kept asking to come out of the game. His runs were perfect, but finish the drives young man.

1st game of the season, and only after running 3 straight times. He was gashing them with every carry. I have no issue with a guy asking for a break in those circumstances. Better to stay fresh and healthy, especially since we have several capable backs.

If Dee hadn't laid that one ball on the ground, his performance was very impressive. He is going to really help us get short fields this year.

Offense: Wright
Defense: Pearce

Wright could have went for almost 150 if he had more carries, was very explosive saturday. Running back room is loaded as a whole.

The whole defense stood out in my opinion, but the way Pearce was getting off the ball and causing havoc was a sight to see. I see him getting no less than 7 sacks this year.

Defense- D Line. Hard to pick just one when their OL was dominated by every player on the DL

I'm going to go D-line and O-line collectively. I don't know what leprechaun riding a unicorn delivered Norman-Lott, but thank You. He, Omari, and Eason will be the best group in the league by season's end.
Coop is one of the best in the league, and I barely noticed His absence (in this game). They kept Joe clean, and the little dirt I saw on our RBs was on the front of thier uniforms not the back. They put up TVA numbers on the ground, solid performance.

I understand that, but when we have the defense crumbling, the last thing we want is to let them regroup and get a fresh D line in the game.

We did have a couple of QBs hurries early in the game , but protecting improved as the GAME PLAYED OUT.

Campbell and Pearce

And let’s not forget UVAs best player of the game: Jackson Ross

Lots of possibilities but Wright was too good to ignore. Campbell 2nd. You could name about ten guys on D and not be wrong. I’d pick Baron
Baron brings the pain when he tackles someone. He sidelined the PITT QB last year and Muskett Saturday. They are legal hits too.

Offense - coach Heupel - I saw some more innovation out of him - like that JUMBO package when we scored the 3rd touchdown.
Defense - Jean-Marie (sp) LB coach - he has the best unit on the team.

Was really pleased with the line of scrimmage play by both units. I’ll go with Wright on offense and Pearce from the defense. The team looked very good once they settled down in the second quarter.
