Week 2: College Football's Worst Weekend

Other than the Battle at Bristol, are there any games remotely worth watching this weekend?

Here are some of the marquee top 25 matchups:

#9 Georgia vs Nicholls State
#6 Houston vs Lamar
#2 Clemson vs Troy
#3 Florida State vs Charleston Southern
#10 Wisconsin vs Akron
#1 Alabama vs Western Kentucky
#20 Texas A&M vs Prairie View A&M
#4 Ohio State vs Tulsa
#19 Ole Miss vs Wofford
#21 LSU vs Jacksonville State
#14 Oklahoma vs Louisiana-Monroe

There are big questions to answer, such as "what quarter will Ole Miss bring out its 3rd string vs Wofford?", "will Florida State put up 80 points against a I-AA team with 40 suspended players?", and "could LSU not line up a QB or any Wide Receivers and still beat Jacksonville State by five TDs by simply running Leonard Fournette every single play?"

Alright, there are a few games that might be worthwhile, but not many.

Oregon vs Virginia
Penn State vs Pitt
Texas Tech vs Arizona State
Washington State vs Boise State

Week #2 has become "College Football's Worst Weekend" over the past few years. These cupcake games used to be reserved for Week #1, but ESPN and the other networks have been pushing big openers for several years, so Cupcakepooloza has shifted to Week #2.

At least the Battle at Bristol will likely get good ratings numbers given the lack of alternative compelling games on TV Saturday night.

I'm interested to see if UK vs. UF will be close. If it is then UT vs. UGA for the SEC East.

I think the ACC game of the week they're showing in Atlanta is Georgia Tech-Mercer

Texas Tech vs. Arizona St., Arkansas vs. TCU and Pitt vs. Penn St other than Vols/VPI.
