Some takeaways: Milton played pretty well! I think this is his best graded game this year, right? He threw some dimes last night. My concern with Milton is primarily with some questionable decision making and lack of awareness. The offense operates at a much slower tempo than it did last year. He doesn't know when to tuck the ball and run, and sometimes he makes plays that don't make sense given the situation (running out of bounds on the 2pt try).

Oline and some of the skill players continue to be the biggest issues on offense. I thought we saw some encouraging signs of life from Donte Thornton in the second half.

On defense: Arion Carter was the best graded player on the unit, despite being a true freshman and only getting 19 snaps. That says a lot. We need to see more of him. The liabilities on that side of the ball are who we thought they are. Walker, McDonald, Hadden all had horrible games. McCollough and Jeudy-Lally were the only DBs who played decently from that unit. Omari Thomas continues to underperform and seems like he has taken a step back since last year. Got me thinking about some of the comments Gardner made during fall camp about him not being locked in and not playing with enough effort.

The problem with Milton isn't his stat line. Its his ability to run an offense. He can't run this offense and severely limits what we can and can't do.... in a bad way.

I don’t understand how the grades work. I was thinking that our defensive stats looked so much better than theirs, but forgot that is because our D was on the field the entire game. I think this boils down to our OL and DBs. Those two units kept our D on the field the entire game and they were gassed.

Well if we had played the way we had played in the second half for the whole game, we could have won the football game. It's like the team expects to just walk out there and win and not have to play hard. Fine line between expecting to win every day and letting over confidence effect your level of effort.
