How Tennessee reacts to this loss is critical. If we beat Florida this Saturday (and the offense looks good), people will forget about Arkansas.

Maybe. Depends on how the rest of October plays out. The Vols have had a mental block against Florida for 30 years.

Offense has sputtered the past 2 games and out of sync. If this game were in Gainesville, it’s be a loss. At home, it’d be a toss up.

Possibly but I would advocate (I did in a post) that Florida has been literally better than Tennessee almost every year in that span. Issue is program building. You look at nearly every loss and Florida has typically had a better record than Tennessee that year. The only years that I could argue that Tennessee may have had a better team than Florida since 2000 are the following:

2002
2015
2019
2021
2023

Even some of those years are suspect. Florida has had better recruiting classes and coaches in their span. The only real exception was 2002-2004 with Fulmer vs Zook and we went 2-1. 2014 and 2015 for Butch Jones were disappointing.

In fact, the most lopsided and embarrassing loss was probably last year. That was the only true season where Tennessee lost to Florida with a truly better team.

What people? Our fans? Media? With the exception of reading VN I've already forgotten it and ready for Florida. If we lose to Florida I'm pretty sure most will forget about Arkansas anyway. Lol.

I just don’t know if we are even a top 10 team right now.

The Florida and Bama games will tell a lot.

Longer than that. When I was in college I took a girl on a date to the Florida game about 1985 I believe. Florida beat us like a red-headed stepchild that day in neyland stadium. That was pre-spurrier when everyone said Florida was a joke. There's something on the water it's been there for over 40 years.

While I tend to agree here after last night Bama just lost Vandy, Ole Miss last week, UGA to Bama etc. Honestly I can say I can't name 10 teams who are playoff teams RN
Georgia’s loss to Bama won’t look bad to the committee even with them losing to Vandy. Georgia is Bama’s Super Bowl they always get up for that game. That being said I can also see Georgia dropping games to Texas and Ole miss when they play. Both are away games with tough home environments against two top ten teams.

Bama Can lose again also. No team is safe if 5 to 6 games has shown anything wad my point. There will likely be 4/5 teams with two losses in the SEC

After laying that ostrich sized egg in Fayetteville and still being ranked in the top 10, I better not hear anybody say that anyone in the media hates us. We looked like about top 40 last night maybe.

Several spots too high at 9.

It’s like CJH teased everyone with this efficient offense in 3 games, then never to be seen again for the remainder of conference play.

That will not get it done for the rest of the conference schedule.

If we lose to Florida, a considerable portion of the fan base will mentally check out.

With our new offense, we probably only put 50 on Kent in the 1st ½ 😀

It is probably good that the fans don't create these polls or both Bama and Tennessee would have dropped out of the top 25. Many of the teams above us are going to have that week where they take a loss and many of them will play each other.

The SEC teams are no doubt going to beat up on each other this year. We added two teams, and the schedules shifted to where some teams that had easier schedules no longer have them. Going to be a long year - I don't see any SEC team making it out of the year without at least 1 loss. Many of the best teams will probably have 2.
