Tennessee’s junior day will be about more than just juniors on Saturday. The Vols will host some of the top prospects around the region from all high school grade levels.

The highest rated prospect in the state of Tennessee, JaCoby Stevens, is scheduled to be in town. The five-star prospect from Oakland High School (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) is the No. 1 rated athlete prospect in the country and No. 1 overall prospect in the state. He has shown strong interest in Georgia lately.

One of the highest rated prospects scheduled to be in Knoxville, Tenn., is defensive lineman Eric Crosby from Ocean Lakes High School (Virginia Beach, Va.). Crosby is quickly growing into one of the top prospects in the mid-Atlantic region with Alabama, Clemson and Florida State all in pursuit. Crosby is the No. 6 defensive tackle in the nation and the No. 3 prospect in Virginia.

The Vols are also scheduled to host a pair of prospects from LaVergne (Tenn.) High School: receiver Princeton Fant and athlete Maleik Gray. Both are high priorities. Gray is the No. 3 athlete prospect in the country and the No. 3 prospect in Tennessee. The Vols will also host running back Ty Chandler from Montgomery Bell Academy (Nashville, Tenn.). He is rated the No. 5 running back in the nation and the No. 5 prospect overall in Tennessee.

The Vols also have a chance to recoup Tee Higgins’ interest. The five-star receiver from Oak Ridge (Tenn.) High School was a longtime Tennessee commitment before decommitting earlier this month. Higgins has said he hasn’t ruled out the Vols. Clemson is thought to be in strong position.

While Tennessee’s visitors will be heavy on skill position players, there will be plenty of big guys, such as defensive lineman Rutger Reitmaier from Lipscomb Academy (Nashville, Tenn.) and offensive lineman Trey Smith from University School (Jackson, Tenn.).

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Reitmaier is rated the No. 8 defensive tackle in the nation and the No. 8 overall prospect in Tennessee by 247 Sports. He told SEC Country recently that he is primarily considering Tennessee and Duke. The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Smith is the No. 9 offensive tackle in the nation and No. 4 overall prospect in Tennessee. He has strong ties to Alabama and approximately 20 scholarship offers.

Athlete Chase Hayden from St. George’s (Collierville, Tenn.) told SEC Country he hopes to make the trip to Knoxville if his basketball schedule will allow it. Hayden is the son of former Tennessee standout tailback Aaron Hayden.

Here are some other notable visitors scheduled to come in this weekend that have reported offers from Tennessee. All are 2017 prospects unless otherwise noted:

ATH Adonis Otey – Blackman High School (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) – 2019

ATH Alontae Taylor – Coffey County Central High School (Manchester, Tenn.) – 2018

DB Wesley Walker – Ensworth (Nashville, Tenn.) School – 2019

ATH Jashon Watkins – East Nashville (Tenn.) High School – 2019

RB Antwuan Branch – Kenwood High School (Clarksville, Tenn.)

OL Dakota Davis – Bearden High School (Knoxville, Tenn.)

OL Obinna Eze – Davidson Academy – (Nashville, Tenn.)

ATH Theo Jackson – Overton High School (Nashville, Tenn.)

DB Rodney Owens – Ensworth School (Nashville, Tenn.)

Instate talent is looking very good. Don't remember a time when this many recruits were so high in the national rankings. Win this year and no doubt Butch will get his share of them. 2016 has to be the most exciting season to look forward to in a long time based on expectations.

Only 1 current player has been implicated in anything, and he hasn't played a down for the Vols. I know what you're going for, but still.

February in Knoxville... Now there's a draw. What's the highlight of the weekend... A trip to the Westtown cineplex? Hope they don't go to any BBall games.

Well this visit will be interesting with Parents, considering all the negative press we have had the past two weeks.... will be interesting to see how Butch explains/spins/reinforces he and the staff have control over this to the parents. Safest bet is to serve Cool-aid, cookies, and sit in a circle.....

It is not Memphis, but Hardin County is more west Tennessee.

I am glad that we have many new prospects from middle Tennessee. We need to be strong in that area.

Eh, Hardin County is literally the most eastern county in West Tennessee. There isn't a ton of talent in West TN outside of Memphis though so we aren't missing much.
