Weekly Injury Report

Seems certain that Heard is dealing with a nagging injury that’s also kept him from being in playing shape. Not ideal. Hopefully LJ3 can get in there and give some decent reps so Heard doesn’t have to play the whole game.

Isnt that why they have high priced facilities and trainers? Swimming especially.

Fine. I'll buy into that. ITMT, at this point in time, Heup has recruited or developed an OL that simply sucks too much of the time.

I don’t really understand this response, as I’m simply stating what I think the situation is, not giving a valuation to it or telling anyone how they should feel about it.

He is listed as probable, that usually means he is playing. At this point in the season, having only 5 on the list is pretty good. LSU's list is long. 3 out, a 3rd string RB that was probably not playing against Bama anyways and a probable, UT is in better shape than most other teams. The 3 WR's are warriors and will play hurt.

Not sure. He ran right with Sampson 30 yards pulling to block so speed isn’t the problem
Yeah, straight ahead he looked fast, but awkward moving side-to-side. So I'm guessing the injury is somewhere (like an ankle) that is weak, pained, or aggravated by lateral movements. Bummer, since lateral agility and responsiveness is job one at left tackle on passing plays, plus, we ask our linemen to do a lot of pulling in our running game.

High ankle sprains are notoriously slow and fickle to heal, but so are turf toes. Lots of tiny, necessary parts in that lower body, too many to surmise. Fearfully and wonderfully made.

Everything I remember reading indicated that his being out of shape came as a result of injury, so questioning his character from a distance seems especially uncalled for.

Likely not 100% and his NIL contract doesn't stop for injuries. Plus, tapes in games like this will be what NFL scouts look at. I'd be surprised if he plays.
NFL scouts?? Not laughing at you man. What you're saying makes sense. But he has to get some productive starts under his belr before nfl is a possibility

And if we had a QB that could get the ball to those receivers, imagine this offense.

Heard is taking a lot of heat right now. I think Heupel listed him on the injury report in attempt to keep the wolves at bay.

Heard needs work pass blocking but he made some damn good plays in the run game Saturday
Watched Heard on replays, he did better in the second half. His conditioning is starting to come around. He played better against Florida than Arkansas. I expect him to keep improving now. GBO

Agreed. He looked better with run blocking. He struggles with the lateral movement required for pass blocking.

Don’t suppose Heard could only play on running plays and swap him out on pass plays.
Guess that might tip them off. Scallions from Michigan could decipher that. lol. 😆
