It's officially game week and the Diamond Vol will host one more intrasquad scrimmage before opening the 2014 season against Omaha on Friday at 4 p.m. ET.

Hope Serrano isn't setting himself up for disappointment, talking like every player is the best ever. did not show in 2013

I don't think he is from what I've seen. Yes guys have to do it still but talent is there IMO. I like how he is not afraid to stick his neck out on the line. Hopefully the players feel and hear his confidence in them and feed off of it. Offense looks loaded and pitching ability is there just untested.

Yeah, I mean, I've been saying pretty much the same things. Maybe the stuff about Price being the best hitter in the conference was a stretch, but I also didn't realize he had the best BA of all SEC returning players.

The part where he said we don't look like a bunch of kids playing against men...that's true, if folks haven't seen these kids since last season you're in for a surprise.

I get what he's saying about the young pitchers going against our line up, how that's a good challenge and all, but I'm not bought in all the way on that. Hope he's right, and we'll know soon enough.

I'm a football guy, but I'm as excited for this baseball season as any football season in a long time.
