Up 14-10 late third quarter, forget everything before. 4 possessions 4 punts. Neither going up tempo nor working clock. When Josh is uncertain, Nico is uncertain. Playcalling as uncertain as the clock management. Josh is best when he lets it rip. But either bleed clock or go fast. That's on Josh.

Clock management in the 4th quarter was definitely a factor. Tennessee got outplayed in every quarter except maybe the 3rd. When those games happen (and they will), you have to know how to work the clock to give you an advantage. Heupel didn't do that last night. Not sure why, but it was a mistake in a game that had a lot of mistakes.

Agreed, clock management and time out management were poorly executed. That’s on Josh and that’s what helped lose this game.

It seemed like there may have been some confusion in the play calling. Never seen so much wasted clock from Heupel. If he isn't comfortable with the plays called from the OC, then call them himself, or bring in someone he has more confidence in. I think Heupel and Golesh are a great offensive team, not so much with Heupel and Halzle.

Yeah. I didn’t understand that either. If you’re trying to milk the clock, then do it the right way. But running hurry up offense just to run up the middle is really strange.

Let me detour this convo right quick.

The clock operator. I am typically very aware of the clock as I watch the game and it’s the first thing I look at after each play almost obsessively. Particularly late in games

Did anyone else notice Arkansas clock operator was letting the game clock run after first downs? I thought the clock stopped after a first down in college?

It only stops after a first down in the final two minutes of each half.
