Just to name the starting players we lost from last year,
LF - Seth Stephenson
CF - Drew
RF - Jordan
1B - Luc
2b -Jorel
ss - Cortland
3B - Trey Lipscomb
C - Evan Russell

Plus, Redmond the ace closer. Realize that I am missing others. But, you get the idea. Massive rebuild.

It was an amazing ride of overachievers.

ya, my bad... really happy and pleased with the team's season. Heck of a year.

Love the status of all Vols athletics currently - it's a wonderful time to be a Vols fan!

This is one of the greatest achieving Vol baseball teams in Vol history. It is the most achieving Vol team since 2001. There was very little mathematical chance for this new team to follow the seasoned veterans of 2022 and become legends in their own right. I will never forget this team. I could feel the Phoenix begin to rise from the ashes on that fateful Friday night in April when names mostly new to us - Denton, Tears, Dreiling, Mr. Walkoff Merrill hit homers behind Flamethrower Burns. Hope LNS is packed! This team was special!

Ok, we had a lot of negative drive-bys show up in the CWS game threads disparaging the team, which probably put us on edge, no worries.

I couldn’t be more proud of this team after the way they started overall and in conference play.
I hate the way the season ended, especially losing to LSU, but man- losing all those quality players to the ups and downs of trying to build chemistry between new players and coaches, and having to go on the road twice to tough venues in order to just GET to the CWS- that’s something to be proud of and surely a foundation for next season.
Particularly, I’m proud of the Basevols for handling Clemson. I haven’t heard so much as a peep out of their fans or anybody else since they were broken by the Vols a few weeks ago. SO nice for those of us who live in this part of the country.
