Just read in the KNS that Fulmer offered rick a graduate assistants position for next year. Maybe that will take some of the sting out of not being named the starter. Might also help in the recruitment of Jimmy.

I hope Rick takes the job, for more than just recruiting Jimmy. I wonder why Casey wasn't offered a job??

I think he actually did that a week or two ago. It was before he announced the qb choice.

just my opinion but I think Rick has a better personality than Casey, I've said it before it seemed like Casey was a loner, Rick seems more of a people person

UT's GA positions were filled for one, the other is Casey wanted to learn the west coast style that Croom is using.

I agree that Rick seems like more of a people person. Could just be the way he interviews though.

Not only that, But he seems to interact much better with the team as a whole. From the O/W game thru fall practices he's been a players player. I hope this materializes into a players coach. :cross:

So Rick has NO shot at the NFL??

NO, but he would be a good coach. I think he is a lot smarter than Casey. He seems to be less cocky.

R.Clausen has been vilified and abused as a player by the press and in some posts. He goes to work, stays in the game, and is ready if called.I saw him in the Cotton Bowl.He is a VOL..He won't whine or make a scene about not being the starter. It is called class.I wish him a bright future as a player or a coach.

Yep, I remember hearing this a while back as well. Good for Rick though. He could really help and maybe be a bigtime coach some day. For now, I am also glad it will help recruiting Jimmy. Fulmer will need to play every card in his hand if he wants to get Jimmy.

Well, maybe Rick is a little irked about not becoming a starter, he reports in the KNS that he might want to consider another school to be a graduate assistant so he can learn a new system...Lord don't let him become a bammer or a gator.
